Good for Roddick on his b-day. He picked up his play in the second and then Chucho started feeling the knee. Next up for Roddick...Berdych.

lucky cheap win for Roddick -as usual-, first that fucking luck netcord in that game point then Acasuso had his left leg hampered since about the half of the second set

Acasuso outplayed Roddick first set, and Roddick is a very lucky man that Acasuso is injured.

A shame Acasuso was hampered by injury. He played very well in the first set and it looked like it could have been an entertaining match.

The joke of the ATP wins due to chucho having problems, berdman will drop this tool in the next round, mark my words.

We were obviously watching two different matches:lol:   Acasuso had his usual second set let down. Roddick didn't do anything spectacular:ras:

Firstly, they both have to get through their R3 matches.

Secondly, does anyone remember the Davis Cup match?

lucky cheap win for Roddick -as usual-, first that fucking luck netcord in that game point then Acasuso had his right leg hampered since about the half of the second set

There is only one cheap thing here. It's the cheap shots at Roddick. If he's fitter than his opponent he's better than his opponent.

I'm quite sure that most of the ATP would love to have the titles he's won and to have the career he's having.

Winning MM tournaments and having a 1 dimensional game, I'm pretty sure most players want to do better than that.

Jose showed his talent in the first set. His FH's were close to the baseline the entire set, his beautiful BH was penetrating, his serve was working, and he was moving well. He owned almost every single rally. Roddick didn't have the usual pop on the serve either. It was going to be a tough 5 setter probably, but Jose tweaked the knee and couldn't play anymore.

No, I'm pretty sure most players want to win matches and have half the amount of money Roddick does from winning tournaments, getting to Grand slam semis, etc. I know it probably hurts you that Roddick has finished year-end top 10 since he was 19, but it might be time to get over the fact that he is a far better player than most, and more successful than most.

Roddick didn't do anything. Acasuso made his usual crazy mistakes, got broken and then started playing poorly and then tweaked the knee. Even if he didn't get injured, there's a good chance he would've gone on to make more and more dumb mistakes, but there was also a chance that he could continue to outplay Roddick badly.

 It was beautiful until he hurt his (left?)knee. Andy did not play any better, Jose simply lost.

Lucky Roddick? Yeh, whatever ... that broken record is laughably tired.

Expected win. Expected domination after Acasuso had a nice first set and Andy missed 3 BPs. Roddick's numbers, esp. winners/UFE, looked great. He's in good shape to continue his run.

Did you watch the match? Acasuso couldn't jump off of that knee and had no movement to his FH.

While the shots taken at Roddick ARE laughable, this time, it is warranted to say he got a bit lucky. He might have won anyway, but it would've been a battle for sure.

I'm not so sure. Andy's shoes seem pretty comfortable for a lot of players.

Oooh Roddick was in a spot of bother in that first set. Hmmm, loving the new look by Acasuso   He'll need to play hell of a lot better next round. Hope Chuco's injury/whatever it is gets better.

Thomas is still in, and Verdasco is too, isn't he?

What does this have to do with Acasuso - Roddick?

Too bad I didn't actually see this match, just had it on the TV in the background while I kept busy on my laptop, so I can only judge from the match commentary and opinions here how both players really did

Congrats to the Birthday Duck...

Andy was in a lot of trouble in the 1st set... glad he was able to bounce back but it did help that Acasuso wasn't able to play the way he did in the 1st set. Happy Andy didn't get bounced on his b-day...
