I got tickets for Tomorrow in April so I lucked out with Fed. Hopefuly something good will be going on on the other courts. I think Isner starts a 6:00 on Armstrong. Catch his match until Fed starts. dylan24 08-29-2007, 12:41 AM damn, i was hoping he'd be playing thursday so i could see him in person oh well mangoes 08-29-2007, 01:08 AM Great night for me.......my two favorites    BlakeorHenman 08-29-2007, 02:22 AM WTA - I seriously had to flip the channel during the Vaidisova match. nobama 08-29-2007, 02:56 AM Great night for me.......my two favorites   :ras: to the organizers for giving Serena two night maches in a row. And yeah, I know all about raitings and $$. But it would be nice to see Jankovic or Ivanovic get some prime time action. nobama 08-29-2007, 02:57 AM I seriously had to flip the channel during the Vaidisova match.Did you watch the Sharapova match? That one for sure was  Even had Ted Robinson wondering out loud if the women's draw at slams should be reduced to 96. guga2120 08-29-2007, 02:58 AM But it would be nice to see Jankovic or Ivanovic get some prime time action. the only female player worth watching at all is Justine. Marek. 08-29-2007, 06:41 AM the only female player worth watching at all is Justine. Agreed, even if she does hit some ridiculous shots sometimes. Adler 08-29-2007, 06:48 AM the only female player worth watching at all is Justine. it was Justine and Amelie, but Mauresmo seems to be fading away bedfordfalls8000 08-29-2007, 08:18 AM I would have thought Roger would play Night Match vs Isner in Third Round....this is gonna be a quick night JMG 08-29-2007, 08:39 AM Petzschner would deserve a night match tomorrow. HNCS 08-29-2007, 08:42 AM Justine  cmurray 08-29-2007, 11:21 AM My new favorite is Ana Ivanovic. I actually like Serena's game (if not her attitude). She's not just a ball basher like Sharapova. Of course, Henin has the most aesthetically pleasing game. Dextertje 08-29-2007, 11:22 AM WTA sucks balls... Rogiman 08-29-2007, 11:23 AM WTA sucks balls...So does Serena  literally I mean tennisgal_001 08-29-2007, 02:32 PM I would have thought Roger would play Night Match vs Isner in Third Round....this is gonna be a quick night I thought so too. On a seperate note, I'd take Serena and Roger over Maria and Roddick on any given day. Last night's session was just utterly ridiculous. Rumour 08-30-2007, 04:39 AM The Man in Black at night: http://tinypic.com/6fizj1v.jpg doublebackhand 08-30-2007, 05:10 AM thanks rumour for the pix, loving them!! FedFan_2007 08-30-2007, 05:12 AM Rumour: Do you have a large resolution pic of Roger serving? Rumour 08-30-2007, 05:29 AM Rumour: Do you have a large resolution pic of Roger serving? Unfortunately no, that's the biggest one I could get from the Reuters site. Hopefully a better quality version will pop up somewhere eventually  stebs 08-30-2007, 11:17 AM That's a great picture Rumour. Any more from that camera position? Doesn't have to be Federer, any match would be appreciated. Rumour 08-31-2007, 06:58 AM That's a great picture Rumour. Any more from that camera position? Doesn't have to be Federer, any match would be appreciated. This (http://www.menstennisforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=127841) is the Getty version (attached to a photo thread in the MTF Fed forum) of the Reuters pic above - slightly better quality but a steeper curve on the left side. cmurray 08-31-2007, 12:35 PM And Rafael "no star power" Nadal gets Friday night. :p Byrd 08-31-2007, 12:39 PM As long as Sharapova isn't playing the night I don't mind, lost only 2 games in 2 matches...... cmurray 08-31-2007, 12:54 PM As long as Sharapova isn't playing the night I don't mind, lost only 2 games in 2 matches...... I'll second that. That match last night was just painful. I can't see how anyone could enjoy watching that crap. Just horrid. adee-gee 08-31-2007, 01:07 PM As long as Sharapova isn't playing the night I don't mind, lost only 2 games in 2 matches...... Tipsarevic should lose less than 2 games tonight :) tennisgal_001 08-31-2007, 02:26 PM As long as Sharapova isn't playing the night I don't mind, lost only 2 games in 2 matches...... Absolutely. Why she got the night session two rounds in a row is beyond my comprehension. She barely spends an hour on court, her matches give a "one-sided competition" a whole new meaning, and her outfit isn't evern worth the hype. And that's supposed to raise TV ratings. Utterly hideous. Nadal/Tipsy is a good choice for a night session. Venus/Bondarenko, well if you look at the rest of today's matches, this really is the best of the worst. mangoes 08-31-2007, 02:32 PM I'll second that. That match last night was just painful. I can't see how anyone could enjoy watching that crap. Just horrid. Totally Agree:o Bremen 08-31-2007, 02:42 PM Federer under the lights wearing black and hitting that overhead smash...that's my definition of star power. His outfit is pure class. Byrd 08-31-2007, 05:37 PM Tipsarevic should lose less than 2 games tonight :) Don't worry, only 8 more months to clay season :) nobama 08-31-2007, 05:49 PM I'll second that. That match last night was just painful. I can't see how anyone could enjoy watching that crap. Just horrid.Robert Landsdorp was right when he said last week that women's tennis sucks right now. And Sharapova is the best example of that. :o cmurray 08-31-2007, 06:04 PM Robert Landsdorp was right when he said last week that women's tennis sucks right now. And Sharapova is the best example of that. :o He's right. Its VERY rare to see ANY WTA match that is worth watching. Justine in Paris is a thing of beauty, but other wise... As for Sharapova - mindless bludgeoning of the ball is what she does. I can't watch it. nobama 08-31-2007, 06:25 PM He's right. Its VERY rare to see ANY WTA match that is worth watching. Justine in Paris is a thing of beauty, but other wise... As for Sharapova - mindless bludgeoning of the ball is what she does. I can't watch it. Even the announcers were a bit embarrassed the other night when in less than an hour Sharapova was winning 6-0 5-0. Ted Robinson even asked if the womens draw should be 96 instead. Of course Tracy Austin disagreed and basically defended the tour. Gonzo Hates Me! 08-31-2007, 06:28 PM a lot of crybabies in here. Don't understand marketing, pr and business. just get the fuck over it Beforehand 08-31-2007, 06:33 PM Absolutely. Why she got the night session two rounds in a row is beyond my comprehension. Who in God's name is the USTA going to put in the night session on the bottom besides Sharapova? cmurray 08-31-2007, 06:41 PM Who in God's name is the USTA going to put in the night session on the bottom besides Sharapova? Well....they could put Kuzzy on. She's a real crowd pleaser, that one. Beforehand 08-31-2007, 06:42 PM :tape: They could have put Chakvetadze in primetime. Bremen 08-31-2007, 06:48 PM Even the announcers were a bit embarrassed the other night when in less than an hour Sharapova was winning 6-0 5-0. Ted Robinson even asked if the womens draw should be 96 instead. Of course Tracy Austin disagreed and basically defended the tour. What did you expect her to say?? Ted Robinson is a tool anyway. SAtennis 08-31-2007, 07:26 PM Do you guys know if Federer gets a night match tomorrow? cmurray 08-31-2007, 07:29 PM Do you guys know if Federer gets a night match tomorrow? He's playing Isner. I'd say its a pretty good bet that he does. Beforehand 08-31-2007, 07:32 PM Announcers during his last match seemed convinced it would be an afternoon match, but I hope they're wrong. cmurray 08-31-2007, 07:35 PM Announcers during his last match seemed convinced it would be an afternoon match, but I hope they're wrong. Oh. THat's too bad. I guess they're gonna put Roddick on at night. Beforehand 08-31-2007, 07:36 PM Lord knows it would kill him to go two rounds without a night match. nobama 08-31-2007, 08:11 PM Oh. THat's too bad. I guess they're gonna put Roddick on at night. Isn't it easier to return serves like Isner's in the day? Apparently in Montreal Fed asked to play Karlovic during the day. Anyway I guess CBS wants to give Isner some prime time coverage. cmurray 08-31-2007, 08:16 PM Isn't it easier to return serves like Isner's in the day? Apparently in Montreal Fed asked to play Karlovic during the day. Anyway I guess CBS wants to give Isner some prime time coverage. Federer and Isner are scheduled 3rd on AA tomorrow afternoon. Rest easy. They have James scheduled at night again. Beforehand 08-31-2007, 08:26 PM OMG. CBS OWNED USA with that OOP. uNIVERSE mAN 08-31-2007, 08:30 PM two straight night matches for Blake??? wtf! TheBoiledEgg 08-31-2007, 08:33 PM Roger is sly he again did his bit and got his way against big servers he plays in day  Beforehand 08-31-2007, 08:38 PM It's CBS' fault, I think. I believe they have day coverage and USA has night, so CBS said "We want Sharapova, Roddick, and Federer. You take whoever is left." Apemant 08-31-2007, 09:09 PM I like Federer in black too.... in fact, black is always cool. I remember even Ljubo looked kinda cool in that black outfit @ TMC 2005. Beat that, hehe  nobama 08-31-2007, 09:15 PM Federer and Isner are scheduled 3rd on AA tomorrow afternoon. Rest easy. They have James scheduled at night again. I figured James would get another night match. I guess he's not a big enough "star" for CBS. nobama 08-31-2007, 09:16 PM two straight night matches for Blake??? wtf! CBS calls the shots and they got who they wanted. I guess night matches are really only considered "prime time" during the first week. cmurray 08-31-2007, 09:18 PM yep. CBS didn't want James. Its too bad - I sorta like watching Feds play at night. Bremen 08-31-2007, 09:44 PM yep. CBS didn't want James. Its too bad - I sorta like watching Feds play at night. Sacrilege! NYCtennisfan 08-31-2007, 09:50 PM CBS will ALWAYS get the choice matches. When Agassi used to play, he would almost always start on Monday because that would mean he would be playing on Saturday and then Monday (Labor day here, a National holiday). Third up on AA on Saturday afternoon IS the spot for the 'biggest' match. | |
