not that easy to kill off someone like delic. apparently good stuff by lleyton. this kid is kinda growing on me since last year.

It was obvious that Hewiit was goin to win, but i expected more from Delic

Delic didn't show much in this match - constantly threatened on his serve while never making a dent in Hewitt's, which as usual wasn't invincible but effective enough on the day. In addition to his usual strong baseline game, the Aussie also went to net fairly often with success - well done to him for an easy solid win :clap2:

Amer is lovely (and very sweaty). I wish he had put up much better fight in this match, but I wonder if that loss to Young last week got into his head. Meh, he's still in doubles with Justin (sweatiest team ever!).

Anyone who is not taking Hewitt seriously here needs to have the meds adjusted. :)

Lleyton is looking very good. :) I can''t wait for a Nole and Hewitt Ro16 if it comes to pass.

Hewitt also seemed very at-ease in the studio interview after the match. He said that he has mellowed off the court in the past year and a half or so- and it really does seem as such.

Hewitt can never be counted out at Flushing Meadows (apart from when he is playing Federer). He always brings his best tennis to this tournament, and his record here since 2000 is excellent.
