IBM's scoreboard on the US Open site sucks

Why couldn't they have stuck to the scoreboard that we are so used to seeing?

The color combination is awful. Plus there are scroll bars to read through bios and stuff (I wish some of these companies would get the design patterns of web 2.0)

It's typically American; typically US Open.

Typically Eurotrash.

Lets not turn this into a Euro vs US thread. The scoreboard sucks. Lets blame it on IBM which, let's not forget, is a global firm..

It's awful - don't like the match stats pop up display which you could have down the bottom last year. As someone who has managed the creation of a few major british sites the scoreboard is a mess!

I never use the independent scoreboard anyway, just the page with all the scores on them.

I don't care about the design but I totally agree with you. It has slowed up my computer considerably.

So, has anybody offered this negative feedback and commentary to the USO website in the hopes that you can influence them to change it for next year? Curse the darkness or light a candle?

Fee, They seem to have a generic "contact us" page. I will send the feedback to them on that. I will wait for maybe another couple of hours to see what additional suggestions MTF members have, compile the list and send it over.

Actually, its best to send your own, in your own words. And everyone else too. I think the quantity of individual emails from all over the place would have more impact than a list sent by one guy. But I'm glad to hear that you know where the feedback form is. :)

Better colour differentiation between sections -
Ability to have stats showing and not interfering with seeing the scoreboard at the same time
Generally tidy it up so it's more intuitive to watch and use
It shouldn't be hogging that much speed it's making my PC fans go crazy and I don't remember the wimbly board doing the same.

Yeah, it kills me computer, although my system is pretty new. And it's way too big.
I was starting to think that 1 GB Ram memory for Win XP wasn't enough. Good to know that I am not the only one.

Computers are whirring all over the world.

Could they cram some more information into a smaller space? Maybe a stock-market ticker.

It seems like all the Grand Slams besides the US open have match stats available on majority of the courts if not on all of them. Get with the program already yanks!
