Well done to Frankie :woohoo: . Hopefully he won't have to feature in the qualifying draw of a grand slam again for a long time to come.
That was an extremely hard fought victory. The 1st set was tough. Hernych led 2-0, and was serving for the set when *5-4 up. Dancevic needed 6 break back points before levelling the score up at 5-5, fended off a couple of a break points on his own serve in a tense game 11, and then broke his opponent again to take the set. The 2nd set was entirely dominated by serve.

Frank :worship:
His first US Open! :D
That was a really close match. He even saved a set point in the tiebreak.

Frank failed to win 3 qualifying matches at both the French Open and Wimbledon, so this was a huge relief. He has now won 10 out of his last 12 matches :). Hopefully he'll get a good draw and make an impact at Flushing Meadows.

Haase has a 25 % of getting the LL spot. Not guaranteed to the top seed anymore.

And all those matches were very very tight,
only the 2nd round match here in qualies was a cake-walk for Frank.

Anyway I wish him all the luck in USopen, afterall he has some Croatian roots, but I'm sceptical about his chances in "best of five" matches here in main draw...

He won me over when he played Rafa in Montreal.
I hope he does well at USO.

Another hard-fought victory. Frank missed out on qualifying here last year, but it's nice to see him in the main draw after his great summer. Depending on his draw, he could do some real damage here - I'd love to see him first round vs. Safin or even another qualifier like Phau or Darcis. Just no Federer, please!

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Congrats Frank. They better show his match against Safin on TSN  He should do well in that match (see http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/sports/story.html?id=34f560cf-7f7b-4824-857a-2155bd6abf8c - that reporter keeps calling Hernych Bernych). However, he struggled through most of the qualies, especially in the 3rd round.

This may be a dumb question, but why did Dancevic have to play in the Qualifying draw when his ranking is 68?

When the US open looked at who to admit to the main draw Frank's ranking wasn't as high as it is now. They don't go by the most recent rankings.

Ok, thanks for that. But what is the cut off point? as at 30 July 2007 Dancevic was 92?

I'm not sure what the cut off point is...but someone on this board knows...

Yes, have read it somewhere but still feel surprised that Dancevic didnt get direct entry. I thought cut off was just over 100 but I must be wrong, also thought he might have received a wildcard but I suppose they go to Americans- predominantly.

Good job qualifying Frank. Probably shouldnt have even had to, but such is life. Hopefully from here on out it wont be an issue.

Good luck against Safin now!
