Q1 Norman 7-6(3) 6-3
Q2 Mayer 6-3 6-0
Q3 Peya 7-5 6-1

He had bp in 7 of his 9 return games, while Peya had only bp in the last game I think.

We shouldn't forget that Peya beat Falla 6-1 6-2 before and broke him 6 times.

If Philipp doesn't get Federer or Haas, he should prevail. He's only one win away from improving his 4 year old career high.

:woohoo: I had to wait 4 years for this moment.

Yeah impressive form from Petzschner, I agree that he has a chance to go beyond the first round with a good draw.

Yes. ;) He had injury problems in his career. This year he was out 2x for 8 weeks as well. In most years he had two longer breaks. :( He was also no.61 in doubles, but got injured when he had to defend 300 points, so that he couldn't play ATP events anymore. He won't even be top 300 in doubles after the US Open.

Impressive. I didn't expect him to beat Norman, and now he's in the MD. :yeah:
Well, if he played against Federer/Haas, then we would at least be able to see him on TV. I have yet to see him play.

Yep, I've seen him a couple of times. He's a very talented dude, with a really huge serve that'd make most of the top 100 guys turn green over jealousy. Although he's always had problems on his career, tons of injuries plus some lack of professionalism on the early stages of his career (or so I've heard). But I hope this USO qualifications brings him some improvements. :)

Good win for Philipp :) This should be a great boost for him. He's been playing well this year.

I hope his recent results mean he's a little more into it! :D
