Kallias (657 rank) actually played the match of his career today against Traykov (476 rank). He defended extremely well, dominated the rallies and remained calm and focused throughout the match. He is very fast and he reminds me of Nadal as a player :o

He is a lefty, he hits a 2 hbh, he uses a Babolat APD with cortex, he hits with loads of topspin, his serve is not a weapon but it is accurate, he is extremely fast, he hits passing shots with ease and style and is pretty solid as a player.
What he lacks is belief and experience. It's about time that he stops playing futures and starts playing challengers to improve his ranking.

Who will play the 4th and 5th singles???

Petros is slightly taller than Marcos and they look alike.
The guy in the yellow shirt is Christopher Koutrouzas who didn't play in this event.

I use photobucket to upload my videos ;)

The 4th and 5th singles were today's games. Marcos won and Petros lost and therefore the final score is 4-1 for Cyprus :rocker2:

He's actually a very pleasant person who talks to everyone. He needs to win a couple of futures to get more points and reach the 400's in the rankings so that he can play futures seeded and then break the 300 barrier and play challengers to get even higher.
Good luck to him with his future.

They need to win futures first to go above the 300 ranking and start playing challengers to end up in the 150-250 rankings and try to make it in IS ATP events through the qualifying.

Hello neighbor.
What you have described is the obvious route of every player from juniors to ATP star.

But not all people are made alike.
Baghdatis made this transformation with light speed, and although he had a short period of not progressing, he made is come back and is on his winning streak again.
On the other hand, players like Dudi Sela, who were promising as juniors, didn't succeed on the path to becoming an ATP top player. But he kerpt on trying and reached this week his best ranking ever.

Congratulation on Cyprus's achievement of staying in the same Davis Cup group.

Hello there :wavey:

Now he needs to win a futures event to start off his rise in the rankings and gain some confidence. Before I watched him live against Traykov (200 places above him in the rankings), I thought that Kallias wasn't a good player and that's why he was in the 600's lately, but after that performance he proved that he can do better and improve his ranking in the future.

:yeah:
