Yes i agree with Mae. The level in these games is very high so Marcos needs to play good tennis.

Baghdatis72

yeah true!

I think the match would start but stop like half way :(

Yeah. A few minutes before the Sharapova match finished it started raining and as soon as she won they put the covers back :(

This rain is getting to my nerves this year.

06-30-2007, 11:21 PM
Oh gret now his match has been taken to court 11 :(

No TV coverage :( i am going to kill them!!

Yeah that sucks 100%. Actually this years Wimbledon sucks 100%. The stupid rain is destroying the whole event completely

The weather forecast is heavy rain until Wednesday morning and so I doubt that we'll actually watch many hours of tennis on Monday and Tuesday.

baghdatis
07-01-2007, 09:49 AM
mabie they will reschedule the matches again and again if it keeps raining and baggy might eventually goe on a televised court!

While rain spoiled Marcos focus on the 2nd set (he took the 1st set 6-2) wimby officials spoiled my mood because of the court 11!!! No excuses. Good luck Marcos.:worship:

Here is an interview on the Wimby site:

You can also download or watch part of it on video.

Hola Mr. SK

This thread's supposed to be longer.lol.
Good luck against Davydenko,he should win.

Marek.
07-03-2007, 07:13 AM
Marcos must have played pretty well to give David such a beat down. Nalby's one of the toughest to beat in slams, so to bagel him (regardless of what form he's in at the moment) is quite impressive. Good luck in the next match against (most likely) Davydenko.:wavey:

baghdatis
07-03-2007, 07:49 AM
hey in his interview he says he will play today, but he's not on the schedule.

This is wierd

07-03-2007, 09:56 AM
hey in his interview he says he will play today, but he's not on the schedule.

This is wierd

Even if he was scheduled to play he would be last on the schedule and therefore the rain would move him on Wednesday anyway :p

baghdatis
07-03-2007, 10:20 AM
yeah i no. all of this is bullshit why can't all of london get like a cover for the sky that doesn't let any rain through.

07-03-2007, 10:54 AM
hey in his interview he says he will play today, but he's not on the schedule.

This is wierd
I suppose that when he was interviewed, he was thinking that the Monfils vs Davydenko match would be over yesterday, so that he could play the winner today. But the rain decided to mess it all up.

baghdatis
07-03-2007, 11:29 AM

The match against Davydenko should be a match that he can win especially on grass :yeah:

Yes that is correct.
Davydenko is not that good playing on grass, so if Marcos
plays well he can win.
On the other hand in tennis nothing is impossible so lets wish
Marcos a good game.

Pame Marcos:) :) :)

baghdatis
07-05-2007, 08:07 AM
today he plays 1st match on court 13 :o :ras:

This is bullshit they put doubles, mixed doubles and juniors on a televised court but they can't put baggy-pmk on a decent court

they could at least have him on court 14 where we can see some balls being hit

If I ever see any of the wimbledon orginisers I am going to kill them!:smash:

baghdatis
07-05-2007, 08:14 AM
oh wait.... On wimbly live it shows at the moment court 7 (not televised) instead of court 13

My apologies!

Pame marco! :yeah:

Baghdatis72
07-05-2007, 09:28 AM
Wimbledon is so random that they may show a boys match live instead of Baggy. They actually did that yesterday :o

bravo marco keep it up!!

Baghdatis72
07-05-2007, 01:28 PM
Next is Djokovic or Hewitt. He will really struggle if he plays the same way against any of those two players.

He needs to get inside the baseline and attack that 2nd serve and get to the net more often if he will have a chance against those 2.

linus
07-05-2007, 01:31 PM
Marcos :yeah:

the scorelines are good but the procedure is... shaking :aplot:

Marcos, dont be that, learn more from it and keep it up for better tomorrow :rocker:

Baghdatis72
07-05-2007, 02:38 PM
Well this year's Wimbledon run was excellent but Djokovic won and now things look almost impossible for Baggy. Djokovic had a light injury today but he still managed to beat Hewitt in 4 and he is in unbelievable form. If Baggy plays and serves like today he will lose in straights :(

linus
07-05-2007, 04:10 PM
whether should I say thanks to Mr.Rain :aplot: TV reshowed Marcos vs Davy now ;)

Marcos' crowds team and their noises  it should be another exciting thing tomorrow.

not know whether Marcos gets used to stay very behind the baseline all the way or it worked just against Davy?

anyway, always so happy to see Marcos, even without balls playing, he still makes me so wanna laugh :D concentration will help Marcos more tomorrow if he could manage :)

linus
07-05-2007, 04:14 PM
btw.. lets forget what Davy said how bad he was on grass, this year his style on court should be called grass expert anyway

And @Baghdatis72: I remembered that you said here once you could watch Wimbledon TV live, is it? whether could you get some interview videos watched? sorry to bother you in case :wavey:

You have to pay in order to watch the videos from the website but I think that you can watch interviews for free ;)

I use the BBC Sports website for the streams anyway and when I'm home I just watch everything on TV.

He choked the second set after having 6 set points and then won the 3rd after losing set points again to make it 1-2. Then he fought back and broke in the 4th to equalize but lost his cool in the 5th and after making stupid errors he lost 5-7.

Final score 6-7(4) 6-7(9) 7-6(3) 6-4 5-7

He needs to do something about his mental breakdowns on important points :help:

Otherwise great game and excellent fighting spirit :yeah:

Sometimes it is, it depends against who you're playing

Well Djokovic is an excellent player and very hard to beat.
To be honest I didn't expect Baghdatis to get 2 sets but from what I've seen in the match he could have won it, if he made better decisions and stayed more focused at crucial points of the match.

What a match! They gave everything!
I'm sorry they played against eachother
Marco:sad:
Sure,I was happy when Nole made direct points, but couldn't chear and shout at all when Baghy made mistakes, hit net,or played out...'cause he's so dear. What a personality, and a great guy!:worship: :)
Sorry he had to lose... Marco:smooch:

Baghdatis72
07-06-2007, 10:26 PM
Marcos lost the match but he had another good run at Wimbledon and proved that he is a future solid top 10 player. If he improves some of his down sides like:

1) The 1st serve % in, which is low
2) Attack the 2nd serve more instead of defending it
3) Use the net more often
4) Learn how to remain calm and focused on important points

then he'll be playing a lot better and he will reach his potential.

After watching him the last 2 years he reminds me a bit of Agassi and he improves slowly but steadily which is very positive. As Navratilova said, I believe that he needs a more experienced coach to show him what he needs to work on because after the Davydenko match he repeated the same big mistakes with Djokovic and this time that made the difference.
