I got a picture taken with Ilija yesterday :inlove: He is absolutely one of the most insane people I ever have watched. But he was nice when Adam asked him to take a picture with me. He even took his sunglasses off for me. And put his arm around me :inlove: Mahut didn't put his arm around me, lol. They're on Adam's camera though. We met up with some other MTF-ers and WTAW-er (Jimnik, CooCooCachoo and CharDa (I think that's what he said his sn was there..) and then afterwards, most of us went out for dinner together and then Adam and I got lost in London as he drove me home :D OH! I also met Fee. Alize Cornet is now my favorite player because she's so adorable. She cried in the first set of her match, having this huge breakdown and then came back and won the next four games, to serve for the set, and then her opponent had some fake injury timeout to mess her up, and she lost the first set. And then in the third set, when she lost, she just started sobbing and says to the chair, "I hate you, I hate you." :rolls: She then sat on the grass and cried for like 30-45 minutes. We were all like :awww: :awww: but she got in as a LL :rocker2:  Vicente played an incredible 5 setter yesterday and was absolutely hilarious in the ending part of the 5th set. And I'm usually very positive when it comes to Nole, but now........I don't know! :( Farenhajt 06-22-2007, 12:32 PM For being away from Federer and getting the weakest 5-8 seed, this draw is pretty tricky. My expectations are pretty low. Yes, it does seem as tough a draw as he could get without Rafa or Fed. (Don't overlook Mirnyi who's also there.) I should be prepared for an early knockout, but also hoping for some nice surprises (which he can pull out on a good day). Then again, if he manages to go past Karlovic, he'll defend the points, which can't be considered bad. CassL 06-22-2007, 02:30 PM Tough draw. Oh dear, he'll have to wear white ones...) kirkicica 06-22-2007, 04:36 PM I don't like this draw  oh, well. one match at the time and we'll see how far he can get. savesthedizzle 06-22-2007, 05:44 PM Bad news though. I most likely won't get to see Nole as we plan on possibly getting show court tickets on Monday, not Tuesday. So no Nole for me at Wimbledon  Scotso 06-22-2007, 05:57 PM We met up with ... CooCooCachoo and CharDa CharlDa ;) He's a really nice guy, so is Coo (most of the time :p) :D Glad you had fun... and I see you saw Edouard  Scotso 06-22-2007, 06:00 PM I must be the only person that likes the draw, but that's fine. Karlovic is a very one-dimensional player and if Clement can beat him twice on grass then I know Nole can do it. Karlovic also underperforms when it matters... like at Wimbledon. Lleyton isn't really that scary anymore. There are a lot of people in Nole's section that I could see him losing to, but I still think he's the favorite against any of them... so it could have been a lot worse. I'll just hope for the best and see what happens. ajde Nole! :rocker2: Scotso 06-22-2007, 06:01 PM I also want to say that I'm thrilled Frank got in as a LL :D Farenhajt 06-22-2007, 06:19 PM I really don't have an in-depth insight in Karlovic's game (besides his serve, of course), but this seems crucial to me: how often, on average, does he suffer a break of serve on grass? If it's like once every 30-40 service games (or rarer), then Nole's serve will have to work like a clock in order to force the tie-breaks. Also, is Karlovic any good on return? Objectively. (And I also imagine it might be tricky to put a shot past him on the net, due to huge wingspan.) jeahhh! 06-22-2007, 06:43 PM Bad news though. I most likely won't get to see Nole as we plan on possibly getting show court tickets on Monday, not Tuesday. So no Nole for me at Wimbledon  :hug: adynadal 06-22-2007, 08:12 PM Bad news though. Objectively. (And I also imagine it might be tricky to put a shot past him on the net, due to huge wingspan.) He's really not THAT great at net... his wingspan is great, but any advantage of that is neutralized by his poor movement and his awkwardness. I mean, he's average at the net. He's from the Henman school... just get to net and you have at least a 50/50 chance. :p Also, the fact that he has such a big wingspan can hurt him if you go right at him with your passing shots. Karlovic's return game pretty much revolves around him smacking the ball and hoping it goes in. Once in a while he gets lucky and breaks. But if Nole can get him into baseline rallies, he has little chance to win the points. As long as Nole doesn't panic, he should be able to hang with Karlovic and win the match by taking the big points. adynadal 06-23-2007, 07:47 AM as usual i have so many things on my mind but all i am gonna say is that i hate his draw!the thing that gives me hope and makeS me believe is Nole`s great success at Wimly in the last 2 years!he did so well there and he still wasn`t the player he is now,he was so close to the 1/4 finals last year...in addition, his sevice and volleys have improved so much and i`m sure that the great Woody Mark will teach him how to win on grass!!!so let`s keep being possitive!Wimbledon is the greatest tournament in the world and Nole will have a very special place in it this year:banana:   !AJDE NOVACE!!! marina988 06-23-2007, 10:48 AM Go Nole! :) savesthedizzle 06-23-2007, 11:24 AM CharlDa ;) He's a really nice guy, so is Coo (most of the time :p) :D Glad you had fun... and I see you saw Edouard  He is! "My goal is to be the No 1 player in the world, that's my goal," Novak Djokovic said. "But my dream, my actual dream, is to win Wimbledon. That's the biggest major of all the majors, as it's the most traditional and you get a special feeling there. If I won, I would probably take all my clothes off." So Djokovic is the cheeky chappie of tennis, but he is also ferociously ambitious. As he should be. The 20-year-old has become the new Hollywood name in tennis this season, and is unembarrassed about his ambition to one day bump Roger Federer off the top of the tennis tree. And John McEnroe had backed up such a claim, suggesting that Djokovic, fifth in the standings, has both "the game and the attitude" to eventually replace the Swiss as the world No 1. Almost everyone else in the locker-room treats Federer with great reverence. But Djokovic is not one to idolise an opponent. Perhaps because of that, it has seemed as though there has been a slight edge between Djokovic and Federer, the Wimbledon champion for the last four seasons. "We've never had a bad relationship, it's just that I had this one situation at the Australia Open this year which was really bad. The press asked me what I was going to do in the fourth-round match with him. They said: 'Are you going to play your best tennis?' I said: 'No, I'm not going to just play my best tennis. I'm going to try hard to win. I'm going to go out there thinking that I can win'. And then people said that I was arrogant, cocky, and I don't know what else," Djokovic said. "It was really bad, but in general, really, my goal is to be the No 1 player in the world. All my life I have been working towards doing that, and I hope to end my career having managed to do that, even if Federer is No 1 for 10 years." Although it would be a huge shock if Djokovic were to win Wimbledon this summer and perform that Centre Court striptease, few would be that surprised if he went deep into the tournament, perhaps even reaching the semi-finals or final. On his first appearance in 2005, he made the third round, and last summer the fourth round, so he clearly knows what to do on a grass court. And, as he is working with Wimbledon doubles legend Mark Woodforde, his grass-court game can only improve. Djokovic has become big news very quickly. A week younger than Andy Murray, he was the first of the two to break into the top 10. His run to the French Open semi-finals, where he was beaten by Rafael Nadal, resulted in a parade in his honour in Belgrade, where 20,000 people came out to honour him. It was unusual preparation for Queen's Club, where he went out in the third round, complaining of a sore arm. "I'm trying not to be a star. I'm trying to stay the same," he said. "It's always nice to win big tournaments, and all the press and all the people put their eyes on you, and focus on your career, and say that you are a great player. I have people coming up to me and saying: 'You're the next No 1'. That's very encouraging for me, that's nice for me, but I want to stay the way I have been all my life, just focused. "You have to be consistent at this level, and that's the thing I was missing until this year. Back then, I was still young, I was still crazy, still losing my energy, probably thinking about girls, and some other stuff. I'm still crazy, just in a positive way." Crazy enough to want to strip off in front of the Royal Box. -------- So, girls (and some boys too ;)), you have an extra reason to cheer ;) ataptc 06-26-2007, 03:56 PM  What a cheeky boy. jeahhh! 06-26-2007, 03:57 PM :rolls: jeahhh! 06-26-2007, 05:11 PM Nole time. ataptc 06-26-2007, 05:13 PM Still good weather  jeahhh! 06-26-2007, 05:14 PM :bounce: ataptc 06-26-2007, 05:16 PM Please win quickly Maria so I can have Nole on my tv. jeahhh! 06-26-2007, 05:17 PM I am watching Venus. ataptc 06-26-2007, 05:29 PM Nole on the scoreboard :bounce: jeahhh! 06-26-2007, 05:31 PM :yippee: He held.:D Are you wearing yellow?:rolls: ataptc 06-26-2007, 05:33 PM Oh no!!
