Wonder what the price is for Geelong to win by over 100 points. Now that Mitchell Clark is out, Patful is too small to be a key forward and Brown will get smothered so we won't get any goals.

If we kick 8 goals this week, I'll be surprised. We miss Bradshaw in that forward line. Now we will miss Clark. Have to go through lots of painful losses to get to the top again. I feel for Carlton supporters the last few years. It sucks.

Might have to watch the 01 - 03 grand finals again!

Hawthorn -15.5 @ 2.50

over 200.5 points

Carlton are shit, and the Hawks have a fairly decent squad this year. The Blues have a very poor defensive line, and if the kicking is half decent tonight, this total will sail over.

60 units on Port Adelaide Power vs Essendon Bombers Under 190.5pts total - This match is like a final therefor Unders in the go,alot on the line for both teams aswell as Port captain Warren Tredrea's 200th game which as more spice!!Looking for a slugfest and wishing for abit of wind and rain in Adelaide would be icing on the cake!!leaning on Bombers ML but wearying of the oppositon as it is a dangerous game!!!

50 units Geelong Pussy Cats vs Brisbane Lions Under 187.5pts - Cats defence and Lions lack of offence should keep this total under, not easy kicking goals at Skill stadium for an away side!!!lean on Cats 60+ imo!!!

Good luck!!!!

1. RICHMOND 2.70
2. MELBOURNE 1.45

Telstra Stadium, Sydney,
1. SYDNEY 1.45
2. COLLINGWOOD 2.70

Subiaco Oval
1. WEST COAST 1.12
2. ST KILDA

Richmond odds looks tempting .. David Neitz is out .. and not sure about Yze status from last week.. game is almost 50-50

Looking may be to take Melbourne to win Wooden spoon @ $13 as an alternative . If tigers wins , they will be up to 6 points versus 8 for Demons

Sydney Collingwood games are usually close .. might consider Pies with the points if more than 20. Pies missing too many defenders though.

as Alaister mention .. Friday night at MCG not ideal for tigers to kick the highest score.

you may think WCE / St kilda for highest/lowest will be ideal ..(situation simliar to kangaroos game in Subi) 2 weeks ago. Also St. kilda is the lowest scoring team this year anyway . I wouldnt be so sure,as long as its not too slippery cos the cold could more run due to players wanting to keep warm,it could be vice versa but the main thing would be the ground and no rain of course :)p.s also both teams dont play that kind of footie slowling things down they will each be trying to get as many goals as possible, which will help the circumstances!!!

Odds for the highest score this weekend:

West Coast 2.45
Melbourne 3.65
Sydney 4.75
Richmond 7.00
Collingwood 9.00
St. Kilda 26.00

Now is it just me or is West Coast an absolute lock? They’re playing a fast Subi track on Sunday afternoon following a week off. They’re coming up against an injury-ravaged St. Kilda team without Gehrig among others and should really kick at least 120. I can’t see either team kicking into triple-figures at the freezing (and possibly wet) MCG tonight. Finally, being the defensive unit they are, Sydney will look to shut down the Magpies and I can’t see either team kicking 100 in that game either. Am I missing something here or is it free money?

As for the lowest score, I'm not willing to touch it. As someone said earlier, the Saints can pile on a few points, especially if trying to play catch-up with the Eagles. Either the Tigers or Demons could post in the 70's tonight and Sydney v Collingwood also shapes as a low-scoring affair.

The only question mark over the Eagles is the weather. A "few showers" are forecast for Perth on Sunday so that might have some bearing on the total.

Unfortunately, finals are still a few years away. I was hoping we would get back to the 8 sooner rather than later, but our young list, despite the talent we have, won't be able to do a full season until 09.

If we play finals next year, I'll be happy. If we don't play finals the year after, I'd be worried about our rebuilding.

Lions coach Matthews eyes finals

News
HIS ONCE mighty Lions may be travelling "poorly" but Brisbane coach Leigh Matthews has not given up on playing 2007 AFL finals footy - yet.

A revamped training regime will greet Lions players when they return from this weekend's split round break as Matthews launches a final, bold bid to get Brisbane into the finals for the first time in three seasons.

"We understand to play finals we will have to win almost all our (remaining) games and that's difficult," Matthews said.

"But we just have to add more match simulated pressure to our training.

"We are not handling game pressure well enough in the decision making, skill execution."

At the mid-season break, Matthews was honest when asked to assess how his side was travelling.

"Poorly. We've played 12 games. Our first six were quite good and our last six were a fair bit below that - that's where we stand at the moment," he said.

No one will argue with Matthews after Brisbane let a 4-2 season start slump to a 4-1-7 record leading into this weekend's split round break.

Despite his finals talk, Matthews sounded like a man taking a long term view with his Lions cubs as they attempt to revitalise a club that once dominated the AFL.

"I believe what we are putting on the field can be a much better group 12 months to two years from now," he said.

"They've got improvement in them and that's the hope we are all working very hard on.

"We are hoping to be a better side in 10 weeks' time than we are now."

Meanwhile, Matthews confirmed key forward Jonathan Brown was still battling a virus that has plagued the matchwinner for the last five weeks but said that was not to blame for his recent quiet form.

"He's actually had a really bad cough for the last four or five weeks, a chest virus," he said.

"It hasn't stopped him doing anything but I don't know whether he is at peak energy levels."

Matthews said there was no quick fix as Brisbane tried to provide much needed assistance to Brown, who is double and sometimes triple teamed by opposition.

The master tactician didn't need to be told Brown needed help, but a brave punter offered his advice anyway.

"Someone said to me the other day 'the opposition seems to know the ball is going to Jonathan Brown, how come your blokes don't?' - it's a pretty good question," Matthews laughed.

"We will persevere more with our smaller forwards like Ash McGrath, Rhan Hooper and Albert Proud.

"We need to have our other target players. At the moment we are not getting support around Jonathan Brown at ground level."

In other news, Matthews is still keeping his fingers crossed veteran defender Chris Scott will return for Brisbane this season.

Scott has missed the best part of three seasons as he battles a hip injury.

"There are a lot of steps to be taken for Chris to be playing again," Matthews said.

"He's persevering, we're persevering. He's contracted for the year so what the hell."

---------------------------------------------------------

Who is he kidding? To make the finals, we need to be the team of 01 again.

I do hope Chris Scott comes back soon. His agression is needed plus he will be a good target in the forward line for us.

St Kilda have struggled to put points on the board all season, and historically these 2 teams generally struggle to get over 150pts. Judd out is also a big blow.

For me the under looks the best play.

For me the under looks the best play.

The fact that both teams have had a week off, Robert Harvey's 350th and despite the last 3 times these teams have played, the total has sailed over.

St.Kilda will want to put the points on the board today. If not, I think West Coast will score about 120 - 130 and St.Kilda should put up about 10 goals.

I'm more confident on the over 170.5 than the 221 points or more, but I just feel we may see an attacking St.Kilda side - especially as they play better that way and with Riewoldt and, Koshitzke in the forward line on a big subiaco turf, I just feel that something is going to happen today.

Back on the break, both teams should come out with plenty of run.

Not to mention, the fact that Sydney are starting to crumble, West Coast will want to assert their dominance showing why they should be flag favourites. After their last few weeks, I think that West Coast will want to put their fingers out and really attack St.Kilda. Now is the time to show why they should be considered premiership favourites.

Also if it's wet, Eagles did put up 100 points against Carlton and Carlton weren't playing that well at the time
