The last I heard Tommy said he was going to play here. I don't know how with a bad shoulder  But I guess we will see :aplot:

This is serious. Just when I hoped that we would have both german top players back on the tour, Haas is injured. Damn.

Aussie Open 2006 was pretty nice. Both defeated by Federer though.

Well, and when both were gone, we had Schuettler. :D

Well I can't read anything in German, but the fact Tommy has pulled out of both Tournaments tells me more than I really want to know  That shoulder must be really messed up again :bigcry: And at age 29 it could mean the end of Tommy's career :crying2: And just when he was playing well again :tears:

Damn, it sounds really serious. Tommy has absolutely no luck...something will stop him again and again. And it was such a good season.

I don't want to think about the end of his career.

German Haas ruled out of Wimbledon tennis championships

BERLIN (AFP)

German number one Tommy Haas, ranked tenth in the world, is almost certain to miss Wimbledon later this month, a German daily newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old had been expected to play in next week's Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany, the first grass tournament of the season, to prepare for Wimbledon which starts on June 25.

But a persistent problem with his right shoulder, which has needed two operations, seems to have scuppered Haas' chances of competing in both tournaments and has already forced the German to withdraw from Roland Garros and May's ATP tournament in Rome.

"He will not participate in the tournaments at Halle or Wimbledon," his father Peter Haas told German daily newspaper Neue Westfaelische.

he is only 29... Agassi played until he was 36... still a lot of time! I think it`s up to his motivation. Does he want to go through this injury time again???

Agassi was an exception. I suppose Tommy won't play until 36, still 3 or 4 years imo.

Still if that shoulder is messed up again the doctors will have to try to fix it, if they can  And even if they can, there will be a lot of down time while it is healing. And in the mean time Tommy will be getting older :bigcry: And we still don't know exactly what is wrong with the shoulder  If we knew that, we would have a better idea of what might happen with Tommy, but may be we don't really want to know
