I was a big fan (maybe the only one) of Wayne Ferreira. Am I the only one here?
I never could explain why but I loved him and his game...

Oh im also a big fan of Wayne.

I love his style of game and remember some great matches of him. I miss him in these where mens tennis is boring than some years ago.

I liked him. I remember in the early 90's in common opinion he had the strongest forehand in the game beside to Courier.

He played many unforgettable matches. He won Stuttgart-indoor in 2000 beating Hewitt in five-set final... He beat Sampras in Lyon 1995 final and reached Australian Open semifinal in 1992 and 2003 :)

Yes one unforgettable matches that came to my memory was against Mats Wilander in Roland Garros (i dont remember the exact year but i think it was 95?) in the second round was a marathon match 8/6 in the five set for Wayne then he played against Alex Correjta and was absolutly tired and had no chance against the spanish and lost in 3 sets.

Other was his amazing run in ATP MS in the 2000 when he played Lleyton Hewitt in a long match and with some rallies that where great both playes hitting the ball and trying to move each other, what a great match. Fortunatly Wayne won the match and the championship.

The last match that i saw of him was in the Australian Open 2004 when he lost against the argetian player David Nalbadian i remember that i was cheering up for Wayne and all my family was angry with me for that.

Yeah that s right.
Unfortunatly Jim Courier beat Wayne in almost all the matches that they had to play against each other

I can´t believe that it took me so long to find this thread, dedicated to my favorite player Wayne Ferreira:eek::)
He was such a great player and I still miss him very much:sad:
I´ve been there when he had this fantastic week in Stuttgart 2000. We were both joking at the first day when he asked me how long I would stay and I answered "well as long as you´re in the tournament" and he said "okay so until the final" - well a week later he held the trophy into the air;)
I hope he´ll play more often on the senior-tour in the future, I would love to see him again someday!
