Higher than Haas.

Stop trying to compete the with the quality GM trolls, you are not in that league.

Fortunately, masses aren't responsible for making ATP ranks based on own feelings.

However we don't know what Disney is yet to cum up with.

His ranking if he plays well deserves higher than 8-12 for sure. He's got the cleanest stroke techniques ever. He's a tennis robot, capable of causing trouble to virtually all types of players other than sudden big smashers like Blake.

Just trying to get some objective topics of conversation going.. settle down I think he and Haas belong both in the 8-12 bracket.

supertommyhaas

Federer
Nadal
Djokovic
Roddick
Gonzalez
the next 5 would come from the bracket of
( Haas, Davydenko, Ljubicic,Murray, Berdych, GasquetNalbandian)
in any particular order)

Except grass.

supertommyhaas, you have form for Davydenko trolling, so like I am going to think you want an objective conversation. Yes, this is coming from me who is far from a Davydenko fan.

Not hard to figure out really, do well in the Slams and a couple of TMS events and why I am taking this part seriously.

Saying he is between 8-12 is hardly trolling... compare his points from GS and Masters series events with other top players where is he ranked??? I know that he has nearly maximum points from MM events becuase he plays so many.

I think that because Davydenko has accumulated more points than all but two players in the last year, he deserves to be ranked 3rd.

Tennis has a ranking system, the players who aren't neccessarily the best but use it to their advantage deserve their rankings.

You have something against Kolya mate.

Kolya deserves to be from 3-5. He has pushed both Federer (AO 2006) and Nadal recently. He has a good game just a poor closer of matches.

Really:D ?

The numbers 3,4,5,6 can be rotated quarterly amongst The Joke, Kolya, A-Rod, and Fena. mostly, Kolya remains on the top-5 in my list, but sometimes slips to #6.

1 - Federer / NaDAL [omg]
2 - Nadal / Federer [though he deserves to be no 1, but Fed is too good when it comes to ALL ROUNDING]
3 - David Nalbandian
4 - Nicolay Davydenko]
5 - Tommy Haas

David Nalbandian? He's more likely to be found inside the refrigerator than a tennis court.

Another enlighten thread on Nikolay by supertommyhass </sarcasm>

Nikolay has worked hard over the past few years to become the number three player in the world. It's not like the ATP gets together and draws names out of a hat and that decides the rankings on that. Nikolay is number 3 and he's has paid his dues, so leave him be.

Davydenko is quite inconsitant and sometimes struggles against players outside top 60, but hes got a very good hard shot from the baseline, and yeah he does play loads of minor tournaments, thats coz hes very fit and never tired/injuires, but i'd defo put him in top 6 ranked

SuperTommyHaas, I know you don't like Kolya and you don't like that he is ranked higher than Haas right now but he deserves it.

No doubt about it. But Kolya is one of the most hardworking players, and to have come into the top five with that as a base is tremendous. He enjoys his disciplined robotennis. Got to give it to him:worship:.

BTW, it was rather surprising that Kolya did not get Haas in the AO QF this year.

He's no3 because he deserves it. The fact that he is number 3 reflects on the poor competition but it doesn't mean he doesn't deserve his ranking.

Kolya = bad matchup for Haas. Most of the time hes super consistent and this pisses Haas off no end. Hes also got excellent passing shots which negates Haas' net play. In the Aus Open QF Haas just played the clutch points much better in the fifth set.

Kolyas amazing! Im not a huge fan of his game and some other players outside the top 20 are smarter players tactically but he just always finds a way and always does the right thing at the right time. He plays like hes stuck in a maze, thats how i se it anyways!! Always finds a way and never lets anything get into his way diring matches.. Thats what seperates the men (top ten) from the boys..

Davydenko is seriously under-rated... Anyone who moves players around the court the way he does is excellent for the game. He is not quite Agassi, but he has the same attributes of him except he maybe isnt as good at returning and cant go to the net at all unlike Andre... if he had them 2 qualities he would have a shout at winning Grand Slams. In my view its a matter of time before he reaches a GS final if he stays on this level. Maybe even RG if he is not in Nadal's part of the draw.

It would be interesting to see where Davydenko would be ranked if they used the Best 14 + bonus pts ranking system (from before 2000) rather than the best 18 system currently in use now. I'm not sure he would be ranked as high as no. 3.
