no, because you sit when you umpire the service line and thats almost inpossible he hits you!

You have the teams of line umpires and every team has their own schedule. You work an hour and then you have 20 minutes break.

THey pay you 150€ for the whole tournament if you are the line umpire. If you the chair umpire at home tournaments you get 10€ per match and 250€ for the tournament at international tournaments if you are the national chair umpire. (ETA, ITF, WTA, ATP).

LOL, I didn't want to make a thread for this, but Robin Haase def. Karlovic 7-6(12) 7-6(5). How atypical scoreline for Ivo.

Wow, that's gorgeous, Mane! I'd love to be umpire, at least for one match... too bad I'm sooo far away, otherwise we could lock up that girl and I'd be the one on the service line (you'd be the one getting stroked by the aces on the bottom line)

are you fair? :) I was a ballboy in AO while my friend's dad was a linesmen. They sometimes judge what players they like more. I over hear these conversations too when we have lunch.

yeh it is pretty bad indeed. These matches I ballboyed in AO during daytime was 40+ degrees with extremely strong sunlight. That's why when ball boying for these players whom I don't even like watching lol I tend to get a pissed off. Ball boying in Rod Laver Arena and Vodafone tends to be better than courts like Court Margaret and stuff though :) Night time ballboying is pretty sweet in melbourne because it is quite cool. So when im scheduled to be a nighttime ball boy I get quite happy especially when nightmatches are usually played by the entertaining top players.

I an Umbrella holder in New Haven once the Pilot Pen starts :D

Its probally the easiest thing you can do and the players cant really yell at you for it, unless you get them the wrong drink, but that almost never happens.

And its cool because I've held it for Ferrer, Fish, Justine Henin, F-Lo, Querrey and many others and its just a blast to see these people up close (literally)

I was a little bit nervous on saturday because it's my first tournament as the linesman. I judged 16 matches as the chair umpire. The linesmen are not allowed to have any comunication with a players. After your call you don't look to a player
