quite a good performance by ferrero, put a lot of pressure on stan who made some unforced errors, especially with his backhand. on the other hand, wawrinka also hit some nice winners with his backhand, but it's definitely not stable enough to hurt someone like ferrero constantly. stan's forehand seems to be steadily improving, i must say.

stan was a break up in the second though, but the spaniard levelled to 3-3. first set was a complete crushing...

so congrats to juan carlos!

Yes! Nice stuff JC. This season really hasn't been as bad as some people make out.

Far too many dodgy shots from JCF, particularly from the inside-out FH, but he can improve and he'll be pleased with his 2nd round opponent.

Ferrero beat Safin in MC & Hamburg 2 years ago :D So I'm pretty sure that he can handle a 2nd round match against him. Too bad jcf lost in rg after those 2 wins though.
Anyway :D
VAMOS!

Many of Ferrero's forehands today were positively murderous! He's looking much sharper today than last week in Rome, and even in MC. The movement also looked very smooth and fast, but he still isn't timing his slides nearly as well as he used to. It's hurting his defensive play.

I couldn't agree more. His fh is back! It's been slowly returning to him ,but now it's here.
Call me crazy, but I say that JCF will be the champion in Hamburg :P
