"Becker is what the Americans call a "Big Calibre Player". He is a great strategist on court. He uses his intelligence to do the right thing at the right time. He's a smart guy, a calm, precise chess player, who is fun to watch. His potential is incredible."

Looks like kinglear was right with his thread about Becker earlier this year. :wavey:

Too bad he isn't working with Karlovic anymore. Karlovic should have been top 20 by now if he cotinued working with him. But Karlo doesn't need Tarik anymore because he winning titles and is having his best season with his new coach Simon Cornell.

When you think of chess players of tennis, you think of Mecir and Wilander.

Becker is a small bloke with big shots.

I wonder what Benhabiles has to say about his new player, Gael Monfils. He probably thinks Monfils can become number 1.

Looks like Benhabiles wants to do some engineering project

I like Becker, and he is an impressive player, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that his potential is incredible. I think he's at home in the top 50, nothing more.

Benji isn't a great thinker on court but hey he's a genius compared to Tarik's new employer.

If he says Becker is like a chess player, what does he think about Monfils?! :tape:

LOL yay for me!! I like Benjamin Becker but he's going to have to get it together. I'm sick of this early round losses of his. He has the thrashing power, but his strokes are too flat. I'm always nervous when I watch his ground game.

True, but you have to admit his shots are penetrating when they make it "in." You would agree that his shots are pretty damn flat? Honestly, not many players are chess-like. Roger is, and Nadal in his own way. To me, Hewitt on-form is very strategic with his placement. I love watching him when he plays well.

This is more a fact than a hope, I wonder if he is able to make something even smarter of Gael than he already is. That would be tactics that Kasparov would get scared and rather candidates in presiden't of Russia elections than plays chess ever again.

his shots are very flat. he is as far from a chess player as you could get. he barely even knows that second serves are supposed to be slower than the first
