Who will be Roger's next coach?

Will he stick to Australians or will he go with someone else?

(That should be Thomas Muster, sorry).

I would consider if the pay was right....

It's not an option, but I think he should go coachless or get a motivational speaker instead. I don't think his problems are in his strategy or in his game, but in his head.

It depends on what kind of coach Roger is looking for. Does he want to work the whole year with someone or only for the preparation for the claycourt tournaments and the matches against Rafa?

Maybe he has realised now that it was wrong to focus so strong on the rivalry with Nadal and the clay season and wants to go back to his natural game which has brought him to 10 GS.

He's his own best coach, really.

Marine

He doesn't need coach. Tony Roche was not very useful.
But maybe Sampras could make him understand he should try to be more present at the net against Nadal. ;)

Taking into consideration how well he manages being alone and being his own coach, I would say Bjorn Borg. He could help him win RG without intruding too much on his style. Ok, just an spontaneous idea. ;)

Well Bjorn certainly does nee the money! Didnt he have to sell one of his Wimbledon trophies to pay off debt last year?

i think he may wait a bit to get someone, but i think cahill would be a likely candidate, he's a good coach and roger will respect him, but more importantly, i think cahill seeks out the glory, and will do anything to be linked with another champion (not that i think that's a bad thing)

Too much of a risk. Sure he'll help Roger win the French, but he could slip something in Roger's drink the morning of the Wimbledon final. Why would Bjorn just sit there and watch Roger tie his record of consecutive Wimbledon championships?

Then how would Roger win? He needs to get over the match-up issues. :p

Roger is going to come out guns blazing and win Hamburg and RG without a coach :D...and then he is going to wake up in cold sweat from his dreams and prank call Peter Lundgren.

stop saying Tony Roche is useless. He improved Federer's game like a mofo compared to 2004. His forehand rotation, backhand, footwork and net game improved drastically after teaming with Roche. But it's just that now there's nothing more to learn from him so it is time for him to part.

It is being repeatedly said that Tony Roche was of no use to Federer. I am not as technically well-versed as you, but my two cents on the issue are that Roche somehow suited Roger's temperament. To me, Roger appears largely self-taught, and a person like that needs just a mild push here and there, not thorough coaching. Roche provided.

Perhaps now, Roger needs a drill-sergeant to discipline him further, something that Roche's passive nature does not allow, but to say that Roche was of no use to him is totally wrong.

Roger needs someone who can take him back to the basics of the game. Lately he has been too obsessed with Nadal and clay. It's natural because he wants to win the RG. But it seems to me he has forgotten his own game and his own strengths.

I also think that maybe he has done too many exhibitions and promotional stuff. Maybe he has also been too busy thinking about the current state of the ATP. So he would need a coach who could make him forget about all the nonsense and just focus on the game itself.

He has a cousin (ask Xristos, he must have saved her pic on his HD), so I guess he has an uncle.

Very true.

Someone posted on rf.com that apparently Roger's manager called Paolo Bertolucci in June, but that the Italian denied the offer as he didn't wanted to travel throughout the year with Roger.
