on paper it seems like a good match.

Can Rafa extend the streak to 77 straight?

I say Rafa in 3 tight ones. I think this will be another great match before RG :yeah:

 Skinny Kolya proved to be a tougher chicken to fleece than anyone would have thought and ran around the farm well before he was finally butchered by Rafzilla. He held his feathers with more grace than expected:worship: . Kudos.

Can the red-hot Chillean give a challenge in the final, or will he make a grand feast?

Methinks Rafa in 2:worship:

I cant wait to see him BITE the cup:lol: (burps) Bon Appetit!

I like them both.

Before today's match, I would have said Rafa easily.

But tough match against Davydenko so it may go the distance tomorrow.

I still think Rafa will win though.

A few days ago I would have laughed at this question, but yeah, that was before a 3.5 hr marathon. Nadal is as fit as anyone, but he needs to regroup physically and especially mentally within a day basically. I am going to go out on a limb and say Gonzo for this one.

Nadal in two, but I think at least one will be close (7-5ish). The clay has to be playing super fast for Gonzalez.

I think Nadal in 2 close sets..
He will probably keep on attacking Gonzo's backhand..
Gonzo can't just slice the backhand and wait the chance for a big forehand..it will slow down the tempo of game too much and allow Nadal to have too much time to prepare

Gonzo will fire some forehands which not even Rafa can get back  but on the end...2-0 for Rafa in two competetive sets.

Rafa lost some energy today, but after tough 2-1 in sets match I always say its like a comfortable straight sets win at a slam (3-0, like 7-6 7-6 6-4) so shouldnt be a big deal.
Gonzo sure is fresher, but not enough for Rafael tommorow, who will give Gonzo´s average backhand a hell of a examination.

Gonzo has to serve around 70% and dominate with the 1st Fh to keep the ball away from his BH. Hold his serve, take his chances in the few games that Nadal will give him a chance on the Bull's serve, and then he has somewhat of a chance.

In reality, 7-5, 6-2 Nadal. Gonzo hits the FH well early, maybe takes a lead, Nadal gets his 2nd win and that's it.

Mechlan
05-12-2007, 06:17 PM
Another chance for Rafa to get revenge against someone that's beaten him this year. Rafa in 2 if he comes in fired up like he's been against all the others that have beaten him.

Gonzalez has lost his last four finals (three of them against Federer), and I believe tomorrow will be no different, as he will be facing the player with the best record in finals among active players.

Nadal will crush Gonzo in 2 easy sets.

mickymouse
05-12-2007, 06:27 PM
This will not be easy for Nadal because Gonzo possesses a weapon that Davydenko doesn't have -his serve. He'll be able to score more free points and that may prove crucial. But I still think Nadal will prevail.

CyBorg
05-12-2007, 06:29 PM
7-5, 6-3

Ish... Gonzalez doesn't possess the requisite grounstroke consistency to trouble Nadal. Davydenko was hitting the lines all day today. Gonzo can't do this.

i would of picked rafa in 2 easy ones, but after a great match from davydenko and a poor match from rafa, i will say: 6-3 5-7 6-2 for rafa. but that was a great preformance from davydenko.

Ok, Roger has always given Nadal mad props, so why you and other Rafa-tards keep ragging on him? Don't bring up the "1-dimensional" remark after the French Open, that's been flogged to death.

But Rafa is a god on clay.

If Rafa is too fatigued, Feña will win. But it depends on which Feña decides to play first and foremost. If he plays like he did against Volandri and Chela, and Nadal is tired, then he has a chance.

maybe nadal is physically tired, he is mentally too strong and overcome that...

last year, people said nadal has spent 5hours more on court than federer in RG before the final, ran so many miles more on court than federer... nadal must be fatigued, exhausted, so federer was going to win blah blah blah....

nadal.... still able to find a way to win...

i think nadal is going to win in 2

gonzo had an easy draw: volandri, chela & massu --- those wins arent enough to suppose he's in his top form...
while nadal certainly is playin his best and he s always sooo focused in the finals, so determined to win.

i bet rafa in two

Mobes

Like a lot of people, before yesterday i would have said Rafa in 2.

Gonzo played very smart, patient tennis yesterday, went for it when he needed to and held back on occassion...

Nadal looked very tired from the word go yesterday (albeit he did seem to revive somewhat in the third)...hopefully he'll realise he can't play MC, Barca and Rome back to back again...

Gonzo will have to play consistently again to beat Rafa and not let the idea Nadal is too tired to win cloud his judgement or he'll start spraying shots all over the place trying to hit away from Nadal...

Gonzo can win this title and end the (pointless and meaningless) streak of Rafa.

Nadal is a unique specimin of fitness on court...but yesterday i think it was more mental fatigue than physical exhuastion...

If Rafa is still mentally tired then Gonzalez could edge it...

But i still think Rafa will win....

Everybody I voted for Rafa in two because he gots a better six pack than Gonzalez. Plus, Nadal shaves his chest hair while Gonzalez is hairy. I don't know how in the world he got Gisela Dulko, she's so hot, hotter than Rafa's girlfriend.
