rgask and tom paulman, click numbers to see. Volandri should win if he has recovered and is feeling confident.

I would probably expect Volandri to win this unless Murray has found his clay feet in the last week.

Volandri dismissed Murray pretty easily in Rome last year and Volandri looks to be in better form this season than last. It's not a kind draw for Murray but it's an excellent opportunity for Andy to prove himself at this level on this surface.

I just don't get why murray sucks on clay. I thought his style of playing fit on every surface.

It really should do - but so far he hasn't pulled it all together.

Ill go with the underdog here. Murray will clinch his second career clay victory.

On paper, Pippo should win, but I have a feeling Murray will. There'll be some let down for Pippo after this amazing week, and Murray could adapt pretty quickly. Either way, I think it will be tough for the winner.

This is exactly the same as last year. Monfils reached the Rome SF and then lost to Murray in the 1st round of Hamburg. The same will happen to Volandri.

With Murray not hitting form on Clay, I think Volandri will easily come through this match.....

Pippo Should win, he is with great confidence and Hamburg is a heavy and pretyt slow Clay court

Murray's game is based on counter attack (like Hewitt),that's why he sucked on clay

Well it depends how Volandri recovers from his performances of Rome... he may have a bit of a lull as he visits Hamburg, but I still think he has enough to beat Murray on clay should he get the upperhand early.

So what? You cannot think for yourself? If a player prefers to counter-attack it means he sucks on clay? By the way, Hewitt does not suck on clay. Look at Murray's forehand for example, as a reason why his performance on clay (so far) does not match his performance on other surfaces. On the other hand, this is really his 2nd full season and he was injured since Monte Carlo.

Hewitt doesnt suck on clay, but hes certainly not comfortbale on it. However hes not allergic to clay like some players.

Exactly.

Volandri will win and Gilbert will continue imparting his clay phobia on his charges. Notice before Roddick joined with Gilbert, he actually played quite good on the surface and then afterwards he went backwards, just hope this doesn't happen to Murray.

Volandri in 2. Awful draw for Murray. Doesn't look like he's going to get the match practice he needs for RG. Weird how when he started out he cited clay as his favourite surface...

Thats what i think. But i think Pipo will just take it out.

THe onlyo way Murray can win is if he plays exceptioanlly well. And moves around very good. Pipo beat federer, doesnt mean his the best in the world now. But he is a great player

I think Andy could just do it, if he is properly recovered now. Volandri's purple patch seemed to fizzle out against Gonzo.

But Volandri is no mug on clay even when not in a purple patch, so Andy will have to play better than he did this week.

It would be really good if Pippo could snatch an RG seeding, and he needs to win a couple of matches here to do so. If he's not to tired he can do it, but as i said, i wouldn't be surprised either way and I don't want to be too disappointed if Murray wins.

Gonzalez beat Volandri with HUGE service returns and agressive play, two things that Murray DEFINITELY doesnt have.

Pippo should win this
