It won't be easy though. I would like if Misha could make it difficult for Rafa.

We're being realistic. Of course:lol:, should Youzhny pull off a shocker tomorrow, I'm sure RonE will prepare a feast made for a king:lol:  But, no preparations are being made for a feast. We expect Nadal to win.

Youzhny is no threat on clay. I won't be surpised if Nadal double bagels him something like 6-3 6-3

I'm not sure I understand that.
According to Mediter's exceptional insight, Wilander in his prime would have triple bagelled Federer 6-3 6-3 6-3:angel:;)

hope he can keep being Nadal killer....

if someone goes out to foro italico and replaces the clay with a hard court then he will whip nadal. but somehow i dont see that happening

Who, Youzhny? Reaching the final of Munich and defeating Berdych in the semi final is not bad, I'd say. But even if he played his heart out with his bh DTL on fire, we are talking about a clay surface here.

He could be the first player to reach a breaker against Nadal this clay season but nothing more than that.

His results are good, but his scorelines aren't "clean." He is struggling a lot with putting his opponent away...

If he can sneak out the first set in a tie-breaker he might have a slight chance but the only time they played on clay was at Rome two years ago with Nadal winning 6-0 6-2.

I say Nadal 7-5 6-1

No.

But if he wins the first set, he will win the match.

Does Youzhny have a chance tomorrow night?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: he doesn't have a chance in hell.

Well, just for the record. Before defeating Nadal at the US Open, he lost several sets in the previous rounds. That is what you meant with "clean" results, right? Straight sets wins?
But ok. Just one round before the Nadal match, he defeated Robredo in 3 impressive sets. 6:2, 6:0, 6:1. That probably gave him the extra motivation he needed.

Just before beating Nadal he ripped Robredo a new one, but a new one REALLY a new one!

Yep, I edited my posting. Didn't notice you had replied yet. He is certainly not in a similar favorable position as he has been before their last two encounters.
At Dubai, he hadn't lost any set before playing against the spaniard.

Then you shouldn´t understand the Fedtards who voted for Youzhny.

Which poll is more biased?

Pippo vs King Fed (Pippo: 2 Federer: 32)
Rafzilla vs Youzhny on clay (Rafa: 32 Youzhny: 15)

I think Rafa will win in three...but it will be a VERY VERY tight match....Think about it: at night, with the always energetic Italian crowd!!!!!! Tremendous atmosphere for sure...

An upset waiting to happen? Possible...especially given how few matches are played on clay at night...

Said it before - Misha is no more than true CANNON FODDER for Rafa on clay.
Let's see how how far 'The Colonel' gets. Hope it will be an enjoyable match, whatsoever. :yeah:

Dearest Rafita, no dispute or doubt possible here.

Youzhny beat Nadal in HC twice, no doubt. But then thing is, none of those win were "easy", regardless of how many sets each match took Youzhny to win.

If in HC it is close, imagine on clay were Nadal is 5 times better......

I think Rafa wins in 2 sets, maximum 1 break per set advantage (that is, 1 break advantage or tie breakers).

Rafa looks a tad tired based on first match. Hopefully he snaps out of it.

Mischa is lucky to get a set off, will be the first guy to do that in a while.

btw, can someone tell me how to double-bagel someone 6-3 6-3?

Merton

The problem for Youzhny is that he basically hits a flat ball and his return of serve will not be as punishing on clay. Nadal should win rather comfortably here.

Nadal will relish this chance to put Youzhny in his place. Nadal in two - easily!
