That was closer than I thought it would be. I expect Novak to beat Baghdatis, and get crushed by Nadal.

Not really a good win...that was so painful to watch but he dug really deep. He's incredibly stable mentally.

I dont like Novaks delaying tactics, he has enough talent to win without all his "tricks" :(

BP:
Nole 5/6
Söderling 4/13

That's the difference between a good player and a top 5 player and that's the reason why Söderling will never reach the top 10. He just can't win the big points. He had many chances to win the match, but Djokovic played great to come back in the 3rd after being a break down and being 0:40 in the 7th game.
Congrats Nole. :yeah:

That was a very ugly match. So many UEs from both players. Novak played far from his best stuff, but was able to fight for the win.

Good luck to him against Baghdatis

Thats what i meant in the circumstances Novak was not playing well and dug deep to get the win, good sign of a real champion.

I watched it live, But Soldering would of won that, he didnt take the breaks. He had about 3 in one game, and 3 in another, thats not right. He did to many errors on his forehand.

But anyhow good win for Novak :p

I didn't expect it to be easy at all. Soderling is a good player , with that said Nole was more tenacious and tough than good.

I watched the match and no it wasn't an ugly match - some nice rallys, but the match looked more like a hc than a clay match.

Novak looked really, and I mean really tired...I see him losing to his next opponent, no matter who it is (Baggy isnt it?)...

I don't think so, but I'm not really a big fan of both players so I don't expect to see a beautiful match from them. So my expectations weren't that high to begin with. ;)

Don't worry...if he is tired in the next round, he'll simply use a few of his "oscar worthy" injury timeouts to pull him through:rolleyes:

Seems like your only purpose on this forum is talking bad of Novak. We all understand you dont like him, so you dont have to repeat yourself on every thread. Peace :p

The Estoril injury-timeout is 3 minutes long. I've explained why the break needed to be so long...

The doctor was on court 1 and he took 5 minutes to arrive to the central court...

It's very easy. You call the trainer and you keep playing until he arrives.

3 minutes long? way longer than than, first of all he pretended to be airness, headache, with chest pain and then with back pain , wtf????????????????

and of course before the time out and (and much worse post time-out) he had not sign of any problems

I recognize he is very good player but he is not a very fair sportmanship

and do not come with that shit of applauding his opponents winners

I suppose you are some kind of doctor.
Ok, no applauding this time...but if you saw todays match you could see Djokovic corrected referee decision in Soderling favor three times. During the match linesman called out three times after Soderling tried to make a winer. Djokovic corrected referee and gave a point to Soderling in all three situations. Isn't that sportmanship?

Soderling is such a mess mentally. Djoko was never really in this match, but he hung around knowing that inevitably Soderling was going to get emotional. Of course, Soderling didn't disappoint.

One thing that that amazes me is how Djoko is so mentally tough. Like he can go off on himself and still be ok the next point. (applause for him)

Rest assured, even if Djokovic is completely drained, Baggy will find a way to lose.

Ok, but there is no reason to repeat same things all over again. When Djokovic ask for medical help in future, we know that you dont like it, and that you think he is faking because he dont know what good ethic is. There is no need to say it again, and again...
Consider for example that I dont like Federer (which is not true, but i need some example) and that I say how he is Nadal's toy on clay, how he will never beat him on that surface and so on. Ok, it wouldnt be so scarry if I say it once (it can be someones valid opinion), but dont you think it would be boring if I repeat that every few days after Nadal beat someone or after Federer struggle a bit in some clay match?
I respect everyone's opinion, but I also like to hear some new things, to argue about new topics, and not going in circles all the time. Peace.

Another agonizingly close match for Nole, but he finds a way to win it! :D He's got some fight in him, that's for sure.

I agree, it wasn't that bad. It was just a full on battle, there were errors, but only because they were both blasting away.

Yeah, him bouncing around and jumping up and down towards the end of the match was a sure sign of fatigue.
