The Eagles used to start at evens against the Cats at home years ago, when they were an good-average team.

This is a game were your 'reverse odds analysis' comes into play.

The crows wont beat Brisbane.Brisbanes young pacy midfield will smash their slow ageing midfield.Mind it, they will be missing the likes of Reilly and Proplysia in the midfield. I can see adelaide getting smashed in the midfield, the likes of Power, Black,Rishchetteli and co will be too good for ageing Goodwin, Edwards and co

Exactly right Port Power. Crows have too many injuries to beat us. We'll be too fast for them. Plus, last year when we had severe injuries, we took it up to a full strength Adelaide side only to be run over in the last quarter. Before that, we have owned the Crows, even on their own turf. Winning at the Gabba this year will be a tough task.

Regarding Geelong - that is tremendous value for the Eagles. Geelong have beaten the bottom 3 teams by 26 goals, 9 goals and 12 goals or something similar like that. They have faced good opposition and they lose. Geelong will lose this weekend. That win was over-hyped. Let's not forget that Richmond are fielding a VFL team and that game was played indoors. West Coast are miles ahead of a shithouse Richmond, a rebuilding Carlton and an injury depleted Melbourne side with no attack whom Geelong have beaten. Geelong are a rabble and until they can show me they can beat a good side, I will continue to fade them.

What is the line for Port Adelaide? With those odds, I'm thinking about 60. Jump on whatever it is. Port will flog them.

Anyone backing Geelong this weekend doesn't know anything about footy.

Brisbane V Adelaide

Brisbane own Adelaide. Not only at home, but away from home too. Adelaide have too many injury worries. Brisbane should be too strong, particularly in the midfield. Black and Power are in career best form and Lappin is back to where he left off and the likes of Rischitelli, Harding, Sherman, Stiller and Hadley are providing a good source through the middle aswell.

Another thing in Brisbane's favour is the fact that now Ben Hudson is under an injury cloud so they could only go up to Brisbane with one inexperienced ruckman to do the ruckwork against a McDonald and a Charman. He may have help by other players, but if Hudson doesn't play, this plays in Brisbane's favour.

Brisbane's forward line is a powerful unit aswell. Johnson and Brown are playing well up there providing options and McGrath had one of his better games for the Lions kicking 5 goals last week. The lions should have too much for the Crows and I expect this one to be a boil over. If Josh Drummond makes his comeback this week, it will only bolster Brisbane up who are starting to get all their players back from injury and will soon have a full strength list to pick from, something they havn't had since 2004.

Here are all the matches at the Gabba.

1 1997 16 Bris Lions 17.16 (118) vs Adelaide 13.9 (87) Gabba WON 31
2 1998 9 Bris Lions 6.14 (50) vs Adelaide 14.14 (98) Gabba Lost -48
3 1999 4 Bris Lions 17.13 (115) vs Adelaide 8.6 (54) Gabba WON 61
4 2000 5 Bris Lions 17.20 (122) vs Adelaide 13.14 (92) Gabba WON 30
5 2001 9 Bris Lions 18.14 (122) vs Adelaide 19.13 (127) Gabba Lost -5
6 2002 2QF Bris Lions 17.13 (115) vs Adelaide 5.14 (44) Gabba WON 71
7 2003 8 Bris Lions 16.11 (107) vs Adelaide 12.17 (89) Gabba WON 18
8 2003 2SF Bris Lions 18.16 (124) vs Adelaide 12.10 (82) Gabba WON 42
9 2004 17 Bris Lions 29.15 (189) vs Adelaide 6.12 (48) Gabba WON 141
10 2006 11 Bris Lions 8.12 (60) vs Adelaide 10.15 (75) Gabba Lost -15

As you can see, the Lions have a 7 - 3 record at the Gabba - all time they have an 11 - 5 win ratio over the Crows. Take note at last year's result. The Lions were without key players and had the biggest injury list in the AFL and they took it up to a full strength Crows team only to be run over in the 4th quarter. This year, the scenario is reversed. Adelaide stand no chance with their depleted side and Brisbane are playing good football at the moment and I expect it to continue and thus I'm placing two bets.

Brisbane ML @ $1.72

Brisbane -6.5 @ $1.91

Just for the record, I'll throw in the matches at AAMI

1 1997 1 Bris Lions 14.12 (96) vs Adelaide 20.12 (132) AAMI Lost -36
2 1999 19 Bris Lions 11.17 (83) vs Adelaide 6.8 (44) AAMI WON 39
3 2000 20 Bris Lions 17.13 (115) vs Adelaide 11.12 (78) AAMI WON 37
4 2002 10 Bris Lions 14.10 (94) vs Adelaide 15.11 (101) AAMI Lost -7
5 2004 2 Bris Lions 15.14 (104) vs Adelaide 11.17 (83) AAMI WON 21
6 2005 8 Bris Lions 11.6 (72) vs Adelaide 8.15 (63) AAMI WON 9

We own them and we will win on Saturday night.

Geelong V West Coast

Geelong had a solid win over a crap team on Sunday, yet they are the favourites over the premiers and an unbeaten side? I don't think so.

Statistically, Geelong match up well in Geelong against the Eagles after winning 5 of their last 6. We all remember the Eagles came back from 9 goals down last year to beat them.

13 2000 5 Geelong 24.18 (162) vs West Coast 11.15 (81) SS WON 81
14 2001 1 Geelong 17.13 (115) vs West Coast 7.7 (49) SS WON 66
15 2002 14 Geelong 8.17 (65) vs West Coast 4.9 (33) SS WON 32
16 2003 20 Geelong 9.9 (63) vs West Coast 9.9 (63) SS Drawn 0
17 2005 21 Geelong 16.13 (109) vs West Coast 5.3 (33) SS WON 76
18 2006 10 Geelong 15.8 (98) vs West Coast 16.5 (101) SS Lost -3

Now looking at that, one would suggest you put your money on the pussies, right? Well, no. Let's take a moment to reflect on something here.

In round 1, Geelong lost to the Bulldogs by about 5 goals. In round 2, they beat a Carlton squad indoors by 13 goals. In round 3, they beat a majorly injury plagued Melbourne squad missing a forward line and part of their defence by 9 goals. In round 4, they lost to Hawthorn. In round 5, they lost at home to the Kangaroos and in Round 6, they beat Richmond, who are on the bottom of the ladder by 26 goals. Look at who they have beaten. They beat Carlton and Richmond by huge margins, indoors. Big deal.

West Coast are flying at the moment. The Cats are an overrated team who needs a new coach and a new direction. They are an inconsistent bunch and the odds are totally off. The value here is in West Coast regardless of the history. Looking at facts this year, the Cats have only beaten bottom 3 teams. West Coast are on top unbeaten. So who in their right mind, would put the Cats as favourites for this clash? Ridiculous if you ask me.

West Coast ML @ $2

Western Bulldogs V Melbourne

This match, I'm really liking. Bulldogs don't have a forward line and Melbourne have Neitz back. They also now have Green and Ward back. Green will kick them some goals and Ward will give them run off defence. The dogs have lost Robert Murphy who has been great up forward for them in recent weeks. So who will kick the Dogs goals? Darcy and Johnson will need big games. Statistically, the Dees match up well with the Dogs. Check out this.

1 2000 12 W Bulldogs 16.12 (108) vs Melbourne 13.5 (83) TD WON 25
2 2001 7 W Bulldogs 15.17 (107) vs Melbourne 12.5 (77) MCG WON 30
3 2001 22 W Bulldogs 19.9 (123) vs Melbourne 21.7 (133) TD Lost -10
4 2002 5 W Bulldogs 10.21 (81) vs Melbourne 15.14 (104) TD Lost -23
5 2002 20 W Bulldogs 14.11 (95) vs Melbourne 15.17 (107) MCG Lost -12
6 2003 3 W Bulldogs 14.11 (95) vs Melbourne 20.7 (127) TD Lost -32
7 2003 18 W Bulldogs 14.17 (101) vs Melbourne 12.8 (80) TD WON 21
8 2004 3 W Bulldogs 12.15 (87) vs Melbourne 12.25 (97) MCG Lost -10
9 2004 16 W Bulldogs 7.13 (55) vs Melbourne 12.21 (93) TD Lost -38
10 2005 2 W Bulldogs 15.21 (111) vs Melbourne 20.17 (137) TD Lost -26
11 2005 21 W Bulldogs 16.9 (105) vs Melbourne 16.13 (109) MCG Lost -4
12 2006 2 W Bulldogs 20.17 (137) vs Melbourne 12.18 (90) TD WON 47
13 2006 17 W Bulldogs 9.14 (68) vs Melbourne 18.11 (119) MCG Lost -51

The Dogs have only won 4 of the last 13 against Melbourne. 3 of those wins have come indoors where this match will be played. But one hast to question what the Dogs forward line will be like on top of the fact that the Dees match up well against the Dogs and they almost beat the Power last week. I think this match will be a close one and it will go either way, but my money is on Melbourne to get their first win of the season.

Melbourne +13.5 @ 1.91

Melbourne ML @ $2.60

Port Adelaide V Richmond

Richmond last week played poorly. That was the worst performance I have seen from an AFL side in quite some time. Not even Carlton's 100+ losses the last few years were as bad. And that's saying something. Port had a close one against the Dees last week at the MCG, but let's face it, they always struggle at the MCG against the Dees so you can't right anything into that. Port's form this year has been good. They are a solid team with great run. Brogan is back so that is going to help them a lot in the ruck and around the ground. He's a good addition. Here are the matches in Adelaide against the two sides.

1 1997 6 Port Adel 19.8 (122) vs Richmond 8.10 (58) AAMI WON 64
2 1999 11 Port Adel 4.8 (32) vs Richmond 3.12 (30) AAMI WON 2
3 2000 15 Port Adel 15.13 (103) vs Richmond 11.9 (75) AAMI WON 28
4 2001 15 Port Adel 14.12 (96) vs Richmond 7.10 (52) AAMI WON 44
5 2002 12 Port Adel 23.16 (154) vs Richmond 10.10 (70) AAMI WON 84
6 2003 6 Port Adel 12.12 (84) vs Richmond 8.9 (57) AAMI WON 27
7 2004 9 Port Adel 19.14 (128) vs Richmond 7.8 (50) AAMI WON 78
8 2005 17 Port Adel 14.12 (96) vs Richmond 12.11 (83) AAMI WON 13
9 2006 14 Port Adel 6.18 (54) vs Richmond 14.8 (92) AAMI Lost -38

As you can see, despite last year, when Port were injury depleted, Port have owned them on their own turf. So how do the bookies justify the line they have given Port? Sure Richmond will be wanting to bounce back after last week, but Port have too much class all over the ground for Richmond. I can't see Richmond getting within 10 goals of the Power. Richmond are a team who is struggling at the moment and Port should run them off their feet.

Port Adelaide -36.5 @ $1.91

I'm thinking this Eagles price will keep drifting. Either these guys are mugs for overrating their win against the Tigers last week or they know something we don't. Perhaps the whole Eagles team went on a big coke orgie last night we don't know about

For someone laying that much on a team, they must know something. You don't lay that much on a game without knowing every detail. Besides, i would never lay money until 5 minutes before game time.

Guys , Just came back from the kangaroos X Essendon Game

Glad you all banked the Overs
i had a small punt on the kangaross and they delivered

some inside info:
TD with the roof close , absoluty perfect condition for any over. Althought there was no rain at all in the last 2 days . the roof was on.
The turf is in excellent condition and i mean excellent
and for some reason , i feel the oval is smaller than usual .. may be that helped the over to cash

Does anyone has the dimensions of oval
for example we all know Subiaco is massive , SCG is tiny .. but i am after exact figures

Over today

Collingwood -15.5/Over 200.5 @ $3.55

Carlton +15.5/Over 200.5 @ $3.20

One of them will get up.

In case you didn't know already, you can rig that bet so that the result doesn't matter either way.

All you need to do, is make sure that your stake on the Carlton option is roughly 1.1 (1.09375) times the size of your stake on the Collingwood option.

ie. $100 on Collingwood -15.5/Over 200.5 @ $3.55, returns $355
$110 on Carlton +15.5/Over 200.5 @ $3.20, returns $352

What you effectively have then, is a $210 bet on the overs at odds of 1.67-1.69, returning either $352 or $355.

I didn't really like those low odds, which is why I have opted for the 221 or more @ 2.70.

The other bet I was considering, was taking the 211-220 option ($7) and the 221 or more option ($2.70) - which forms a bet of over 210.5 points @ combined odds of 1.95 .

Saints v Swans

A 168.5 total at the Telstra Dome?

Gotta hit the overs on this one. If the Kangas can kick 100+, why not the Saints? Saints defense isn't that strong these days either.

over 168.5

Always amazes me how the books get these lines spot on, that one is incredible

That was a shithouse performance by the Lions. Those skill errors were worse than Richmond's against Geelong.

We'll flog Essendon indoors next week though. Won't be any misses on goal and you can't keep black, power and brown down for 2 weeks in a row.
