ATP Sap Open, San Jose (USA) - 18/02/2007, 03.00 a.m. UTC
Andy Roddick to win (vs Murray)
Also the last year the semifinal here in San Jose was Roddick Vs Murray and won in two sets match the Scot, but two fundamental factors are completely changed:
- The surface regarding the last year is fastest and this is nice for the American.
- This Roddick is surely better then the Roddick of the last year - pre Connors.
I go with Andy, his value for me is not over 1.60.
1.73 - Pinnaclesports - 10/10

BANK THAT SHIT
tennisfancroatia 02-18-2007, 08:37 AM Canas 1.70
Simon 2.70
Karlovic-under 24.5 games or-won't be broken 1.80
bad gambler 02-18-2007, 09:12 AM I've got Clijsters to win Antwerp paying $2.00 from yesterday before the SFs.
Looking into the final in Brazil as probably my only other bet, but expect Baghdatis to wipe the floor with Simon and bag consecutive indoor titles. May parlay him with something else.
I've got Clijsters to win Antwerp paying $2.00 from yesterday before the SFs.
Clijsters was awful yesterday. Barring injuries, I see Momo all over her today as I've seen her play her consistent tennis at times against Chakvetadze.
El Burro 02-18-2007, 09:27 AM Not sure about Baggy BG...or at least I think he wom't have such an easy ride as you predict. If Simon executes his gameplan well, he should give Marcos something to think about on the baseline.
Canas over Ferrero @ 1.68  Admittedly, I don't have any of my personal stats for Canas, but he is a man on a mission right now and dealt fairly easily with 2 pretty decent players yesterday. Whether JCF is in form or not, he is still a relative shadow of the player he once was.
El Burro 02-18-2007, 09:54 AM Want to finish this week in profit (to make it 4 weeks in a row) but I'm gonna risk it:
WTD: 5/8 (+ 0.02 units [+ 0.09% ROI])
Canas over Ferrero @ 1.68 (3 units) - Canas is a man on a mission to get back to where he was before his drugs ban. Since his return late last year, he has made 6 challenger finals, losing only once, to the tricky Guccione. He has carried this on to ATP level, notably in Davis Cup and obviously this week. He has powered through the draw, defeating two tough players back-to-back in one day, and with relative ease. Why should Ferrero be any different? The Spaniard has, himself, also ripped through the draw, but not really played anyone notable. Finals are not his best friend either...he has lost 8 of his last 10, his last handful of titles coming when he hit his peak in 2003 (and several of those titles came against weaker opponents than you'd expect in a final). Contrast that with Willy, who has won 8 of his last 10 finals (albeit many at challenger level) but holds an impressive 13/7 record overall, as opposed to Ferrero holding a deficit. Willy is clearly driving in the fast lane back to the top 50, and I don't see why Ferrero should pull out in front of him and force him to reduce his speed.
theexpress 02-18-2007, 10:44 AM Sorry guys, my be being ignorant, but:
1. Can't see Clijster loosing to Mauresmo on her home soil, and last event!
2. Agree that Canas will win this one against JCC, but in 2 set to 1.
3. Think Marcus wil lblast Simon away in this final.
4. Think Karlovic will beat Murray in 2 tie breaks.

Ivo Karlovic +3 @ 5/6
Amelie Mauresmo +3 @ 8/11
Marcos Baghdatis -4 @ 10/11
Guillermo Canas @ 4/6
Mara Santangelo @ 4/11

fisherking 02-18-2007, 12:55 PM I would be very surprised if Baghdatis won't win in straight sets.
edit: I'm shocked
Also i believe Canas is overrated here. He was very lucky yesterday against Chela, i was watching that game and for me in 1st set Chela was better. In second set his head collapsed...
Maybe Canas will win, but with price about 1.7 not for me...

that is one quality that makes him so special..his fighting alone makes up for when his opponent was "better" ..btw Chela ran out of gas and again ..you have to count that in that what willy does to you

The Tennis Ninja 02-18-2007, 05:15 PM Hmmh, maybe I'm a refugee from the 90s but surely Ferrero has half a chance?
1 Canas has won about 4 challenger titles within the last few months, now this is an amazing feat however could the guy tire?
2 Ferrero is showing some form lately.
3 Ferrero is a past master on clay, the guy is former world no 1 and former French open champion.
4 We see many players do well at challenger level and then don't quite have what it takes to make it back to the very top on the main tour. Challenger is not the same.
5 Ferrero has over 30 career finals to his name winning about half, Canas has just over 10 and has not won a tour title since 2004.
6 The H2H is 1-0 in Ferrero's favour.
If Ferrero drifts towards the 3.0 mark I'll take him.

I agree with you in almost all points, i took Ferrero as well before match (2.52) and i'm writing it when he is 5-2 down in 1st set tb...
but imo
definitely you can't call Canas "challenger player"
