Whatever happens Robredo wont end up in the semis of the us open, he was so damn lucky against ljubicic in cincinati and i feel its time to go tommy, wawrinka is really talented and showed plenty of resolve gainst soderling, it will probs be a long match with long rallys because both players can really play but i fancy wawrinka to edge it.

DJOKOVIC over Hewitt

Ok this one will also be very close but Hewitt has had two easy opponents in montanes and hernych, novak played really well against fish, great forehand , and served well in key momments. His breathing should be fine as it is cool in new york. Hewitt has the better grand slam pedigree and he will fight but will it be enough? Djokovics tie break record of 16-4 also comforts you as well..

NOVAK over Mallisse

Jiri could suprise and do what bjorkman did at wimbledon this year and go deep into the tournament, played very well against paradorn where as xavier has had some easy opponents thus far, novak has got a convincing head to head with xavier and proves that he style of play conflicts well with xaviers, on his day xavier can blow you away but will he be on his day? If novak can get through to play federer it would be good cause novak has beaten federer plenty of times believe it or not.

Petrova has had easy opponents so far and before this tournament started she lost 6 games in a row to good oponnents, golovin is good and has beaten petrova twice before.

Could be close but Li is fiesty and can beat the out of fitness and out of shape pierce, similar games means it will be tight but worth a shot for the girl from china to win.

Anyone watched Youzhny's match ? Is he in form ?

My main bet of the day is Hewitt over Djokovic. After watching Djokovic's last match I felt he was very lucky to get through and his serve was all that saved him. Hewitt is a great returner and someone that will give his all, especially in a slam. Sure he hasn't been on great form and he has an injury plagued season but I favour Hewitt in this game and see Novak with a high aces count but high unforced error count too. It will be an interesting game as I don't think they have met before.

I also fancy Li over Pierce, she has been playing well, Pierce is still a little injured and it's good value. Malisse over Novak and Nalbandian over Safin still.

Once again I'm relentlessly value betting the dogs. Tursunov has played well enough in the past few weeks to give him a chance against the Birdman. The match is about 50/50 so this is again a value bet.

Moya has a 4/2 winning record over Blake and is playing well in this tournament. Don't get me wrong Blake is also playing well but again a small value bet here.

Giquel Over Gaudio 2.66

Giquel destroyed the in form ferrero in the previous round and Gaudio will present him with much the same problems. Another juicy dog.

I agree with your bets! Giquel looks very strong and even though Gaudio has looked impressive he is still playing on hard court. I like Golovin because Petrova always seems to mail it in and Golovin has won their only two meetings. Moya although a long shot has a chance and Tursunov is playing really well on hardcourts this year and for the odds is worth more than a look.
