Mistress of Non-Tennis can be Nicole if she only was more indulgent for her (so-called) pancake face. She will learn Polish and Nathii will practise her German, just not now. Nicole is also planning to go to London soon. So was the idea of making a Thread Meeting in England next year (Natts want to spend summer over there) so Olga, Nicole, Paul and me can meet. And maybe also betterthanhenman, now we know he's back on the forum. Nicole has problems with her cousin who was dumped by a boyfriend. She can learn how hard is to be a psychologist, especially for her own family. Sebastian has already learnt how hard is to be a Bjorn Phau fan (he's in a slump uhmm Phau, not Basti) and Mercedes and I know something about Gael Monfils' supporting. Milan has some exams to face yet, Nathii will take her last one tomorrow (everybody remembers: fingers crossed at 10 a.m. CET). She hopes to perform better than Celtic Glasgow yesterday. Poor Celtic, but at least Paul rules for sure - decided to confirm the thesis. And like last year, I'll be working there at the press office. A media pass is a thing that you enter the courts for free, also you have access to a very good studio with computers and stuff (and it's not so easy to get to everything of it in Poland) plus you have dinners for free and entrance for special parties (which is something what some people may like) ;)

1. For those who are reading this and don't have the doubtful pleasure of knowing me yet - I'm working at the press office of the tournament (writing texts for the official website, helping at press conferences etc.)

2. You can find here translated texts that I wrote, but upon request I can report from almost every match or try to take a photo of whoever you want. Also some information from around the tournament can be published but not more detailed than it should.

3. I am sorry for the quality of texts in case you were looking forward to something extraordinary, but my English is far from perfect. It's annoying when there are less busses going on the weekend than during the week. Once I was somewhere in the middle of nowhere with a friend of mine and we were waiting 3 hours for a bus to pop up to bring us back to the train station.

The most familiar ones were Argentinian players, Mariano Zabaleta and Edgardo Massa, who just after finishing their quallification matches bumped into the press office and started to ask us about the nearest point where they are selling the acoustic guitars on Sundays. Massa wasn't distracted by reminder that he had already bought one in Szczecin, two years ago. What a melomane... Pleasures of souls for some, pleasures of body for the others. The local opened-air shish-kebab restaurant was dominated by the Italian team, who were eating dinner surrounded by the fans, and were exchanging thoughts in native language (very loudly). The Czech player, ohdan Ulihrach was spitting through the barrier... he must have been hungry! The greatest fuss was around the practise courts, where the greatest tournament's celebrities had gathered. Guillermo Coria (ex no3 in ATP ranking) was practising with Grzegorz Panfil, who demonstrated service "Almost like Roddick" (almost makes a huge difference). Demolishing the junior owner of a Wild Card set the Argentinian star in a good mood, so he indulgently allowed for a photo session, and we know he has flies in his nose quite frequently (it's an idiom in Polish, I don't know how to translate it :p). Then he swayed away towards the office and his beautiful wife Carla (home surname - Frankowicz) was carrying the bottles with mineral water after him. The whole procession was happening along with the cheerful sounds: "Coria, Coria, Coria" heard out of the beer selling gardens. Tomas Behrend was shwoing off with a football shirt with his name, which was observed by Nicolas Lapentti from Ecuador with such a holy attention that he forgot to wear one more sock on his foot and he started his training holding it in his hand. But the best football players of the day was Stefan Koubek. The Austrian showed how to play a volley over the net. A football one, of course. I'm sure you're curious about the news from a Polish camp (which is easy to recognize by having heads down and rushing home from the courts). Michał Przysiężny still grumbles about the injury which made his trainings unable for the last two weeks. "I took the racquet to my hand for the first time yesterday, I play only because I made the main draw from my ranking. If I was to receive a Wild Card, I'd deny it - to be given someone else" - he said, asking for not overestimating his chances against the Czech Ivo Minar, who was fooled by Przysiężny during 1st round of Wrocław challenger.
