View Full Version : Tommy News!
Hasilicious 09-26-2005, 04:10 PM Hello HG, Sunflower, Jel, Christina, anybody from Tommy's Fan Network Index Forum. Yesterday I could not post, and today I am totally locked out, banned. HELP!!!!! I think it is an error. It also says the year is 1926, that's really, really bad because that makes Tommy a very old man or not even born for years! Someone please help me get back in. I'm missing you!
Tommy was soooo awesome in the Davis Cup tie! Where are you HG?
Hope to be back soon,
Hasilicious
tom&ni 09-29-2005, 03:15 AM Well, everything's back to normal now... yeah, it was kinda bizarre... I didn't log in the first time and I hadn't realised so, that's why I appear posting as "Guest" (then I could log in). The following day, it said something like I couldn't post that fast again, and I couldn't get in! I thought it was my pc, but then I saw the year changed and I said "God! H's back to the future or something!!" Glad it's all over now! Keep posting! :)
P.S.: Sorry I didn't answer earlier. Books, books, books... the usual stuff...
Alexiana 11-22-2005, 12:52 PM I can't visit Tommys Homepage for days now, anyone of you?
Neely 11-22-2005, 07:56 PM I can't visit Tommys Homepage for days now, anyone of you?
I can't, too. Maybe it's currently down for a redesign. Or Tommy didn't pay the bill for hosting it ;)
All I kept getting when I tried was error messages that said the page I was looking for couldn't be located
Alexiana 11-24-2005, 05:48 PM I can't, too. Maybe it's currently down for a redesign. Or Tommy didn't pay the bill for hosting it ;)
He would do good updating it ;)

I'm still getting the same error messages so either the site is down for some reason or it is gone

I hope they get the site back up whether it is an updated one or a new one. Tommy definitely needs an official website :)

Well I never got a chance to see Tommy's official website  I did get on a Forum that is just for Tommy and it is very nice :) For a player to have a good website the website must be run by good people with a knowledge about computers and websites. Some players have really great websites and Tommy should also maybe the wrong people are trying to manage the website?

yes I Think so too. But his HP is very poor, the design is old fahioned and it doesn't have any cool features..
I wonder who is or was in charge of Tommy's website?
Alexiana 11-30-2005, 12:18 PM I wonder who is or was in charge of Tommy's website?
I cant tell exactly, but I don't think it was a professional...

they did the Intro..
Yes now I remember I did see the site. But all it was when I saw it was words like "The Speed" and there would be several pictures of Tommy and then those would fade and words like "The Power" and there would be several pictures of Tommy and then those would fade. It didn't seem complete when I saw it. It was like the start of a website, but then there was really nothing to it. Maybe they were already starting to take it down when I saw it

when did you try? I was able to see all the content a few weeks before
Sorry I'm not sure it was sometime after I joined that Forum that is just for Tommy. I will have to check when I joined there to give you at least some idea of when I was at the site. I checked. I joined the Forum for Tommy on Nov. 13th so it was sometime after that date, but I'm not sure exactly when

You may be right about that because since I can't speak or read any German I was only looking at the English site.
I couldn't have read any of the German site, but if I had looked I would have at least known if it was there. But I didn't think to do that

nevermind, I think it will be there soon :)
I read about Tommy not continuing the sponsorship with asics, did you hear that too?

No I hadn't heard a word about that, but for me to hear anything about Tommy I would have to search the internet.
It's not like I can just pick up a newspaper and read about Tommy  The U.S. press doesn't even cover U.S. tennis players all that well so they certainly aren't going to cover a German player

I read it online too, but it was only mysteriously mentioned in an article. So I went to the asics page and there I saw that Tommy wasn't shown on the german site but on the .com page. Never visited the site before so I can't tell if he was shown under the german ambassadors before.
I think we have to wait...
Here's the article (again in german) http://www.ngz-online.de/ngz/news/lokalsport/2005-1125/tennis.html
They write that Tommy should not be an role modell for younger players and that they decides to end the partnership with him because they didn't want to akt as servants and shoe cleaners  sounds a bit like Tommy though
You know they do the same thing here in the U.S. talking about sports players being "role models" :( Since when does everyone just because they happen to have talent in a sport have to be a "role model". Why aren't parents, teachers, etc. ever expected to be "role models" for children
Alexiana 12-05-2005, 07:57 PM GOOD NEWS: TOMMY'S HOMEPAGE IS BAAACK

Thank you for the good news that the site is back :) And now if they can just get it updated maybe we can find out what is going on with Tommy ;)
Alexiana 12-06-2005, 02:57 PM yes, one thing in a time ;)
don't rush, they are doing so much at the moment
I don't care if they take their time if they are improving the site :)

jap, i think so too. I would be totally satisfied with a new tourplan :)
Yes what little I saw of the site I didn't think it was well done at all  Tommy should have an excellent site :)
Alexiana 12-12-2005, 07:33 PM Tommy updated his site, but only the german version
I will try to translate it :)
Preparation for the year 2006
11.12.05
In the last few weeks I mostly worked on my fitness. In the end of december I am going to come to Germany for a few days.
Bradenton. The last days of the preparation time have begun. Shortly before christmas I am going to fly over Munich to Doha for the first tournament of the season. After the weak second half of my 2005 season the start into the new year is very important to me. I create the conditions for it by doing many hours of Fitness training and naturally also by numerous units on the court.
Of course the first, important tournament will be the Australian Open. In February I will of course play the Daviscup tie against France in Halle. I will post the complete tour plan soon.
I wish you all a nice christmas time
See you soon, Tommy
Oh thank you so very much for posting that especially in English for me! You do a good job with English while I can't do anything at all with German  It makes me feel bad that so many people can speak a language other than their native language while I can't  I tried to learn French, but I couldn't do it at all and I spend two years trying

I thought it didn't sound right, but whatever ;) But thanks for the compliment. French is a very difficult language to learn, I don't know anything anymore.. I had english, spanish and French at school and because my father is greek I grew up with two languages and I think its easier to pick up other languages then.
Alexiana 12-13-2005, 03:08 PM Tommy has got a new coach. He will work with Tomas Hogstedt, who just finished working with Kiwi
Gee, I thought Hogstedt stopped coaching Kiefer because he didn't like to travel and spend all that time away from his family...
Space Cowgirl 12-13-2005, 07:31 PM Gee, I thought Hogstedt stopped coaching Kiefer because he didn't like to travel and spend all that time away from his family...
yeah, that was the case a couple of weeks ago
I predict some ill-feeling the next time Kiwi and Tommy meet up
Alexiana 12-13-2005, 10:11 PM Gee, I thought Hogstedt stopped coaching Kiefer because he didn't like to travel and spend all that time away from his family...
thats what he said a few days ago  I was surprised too. He also said, that he has been watching Tommy for 3 weeks now and that he had this plan earlier.
Alexiana 12-13-2005, 10:17 PM Tommy also has a new sponsor. Limited Sports (never heard of it). They will create a Tommy Haas Collection. They normally do the Daviscup clothes.
A new coach and a new sponsor maybe Tommy has big plans for 2006 :) I certainly hope so. I liked what he said about how his tennis dropped off during the last part of 2005 and that he didn't want that to happen again. That's not a direct quote, but that is the idea of what he actually said.

I take it as a good sign too. I hope he can have a fresh new start 2006 and a great season working with Hogstedt and his new sponsor.
He will be involved in the design of his new collection, so I am very curious to see it. (Hope ist will contain some sleeveless shirts ;) )
I hope this is a good sign too. I'd like to see him get his 'off court' life in order as well. He seemed to have a lot of drama going on last year (and that is all I am going to say about that).
I take it that drama might be referring to the woman that Tommy's father doesn't like which has been posted about in the Forum. I hope it is nothing more than that because that is more than enough!
snapper 12-16-2005, 03:23 AM might be... last time i saw him, he couldn't see his eyes off her while he played.

Oh me that is not good for a tennis player, but other players' have girlfriends and do fine. In fact some players' actually seem to play better with girlfriends. But I guess Tommy isn't one of them
