What do you guys think?
I also think that Haas Davydenko is a 50-50 match, and therefore Haas may represent some value.
Ferrero looks a good bet to beat a shaky Safin, and the Robredo-Sanchez match will be a lot closer than the odds suggest.
Ays25 05-27-2005, 08:32 PM well adk i think kiefer has more chance to beat andreev than haas over davydenko.
and @ 2.62 / sportingbet kiefer has a value
and again haas 2.45 is also tempting but you never know how comitted they will be these to talented but problematic germans.
canas should beat phm on paper.
jackieglover 05-27-2005, 08:57 PM Andreev x JCF x Canas parlay perhaps
Ays25 05-27-2005, 09:19 PM come on?? how are you sure of andreev!!
apart from the final what did he do, kiefer is more talented for sure
Andreev should be the favourite here. I think Nieminen is better on clay than Kiefer and Andreev showed some great tennis against him. Andreev has the more powerful game from the baseline, on a good day he can outplay him. But I will stay away from it.
I see Coria, Robredo, Ferrero, Canas, Puerta, Volandri winning tomorrow, but I'm not confident about the Germans.
What about Golovin(1.66) and Dechy(1,47)? Looks good to me, although Golovin has a dangerous opponent with Bovina.

I think Safin presents some value and i'll take a dabble on him. He's played JCF twice this year on clay already and was spanked, Safin tends to play better on the big stages against better players so im liking this one as an upset.
I also like acasuso to upset pipo here. I dont want to read to much into the duck victory but he showed some fight to come back, coupled with pipos weak ass serve there should be plenty of chances to win this one if he isn't out of steam.
thats my only leans of the day.
Breaker 05-28-2005, 02:09 AM Juan-Carlos Ferrero over Marat Safin - $1.62
William Hill
Ferrero has won both matches played between the two this year, which were both during masters events on clay, so the will of Safin to win these matches isn't in question as it is my belief Safin actually applies himself during these tournaments.
Ferrero holds a 5-4 overall H2H lead and a 4-2 Head-to-head lead on clay and has shown great claycourt form this season with victories over Gaudio, Alberto Martin, Davydenko, Volandri - who are all capable claycourters.
JCF also made the final at Barcelona just over a month ago, beaten by Nadal in three
JCF holds a respectable 12-5 record on clay this season
In 5 of his last 6 tournaments Ferrero has lost to a player who has gone on to make the semi finals or better
JCF hasn't dropped a set on his way to the 3rd round and this seasons results show that when Ferrero makes the 3rd round on clay he has only lost once from four occasions
In contrast, Safin, who holds a 4-4 record on clay this season, has only really beaten one respectable claycourter, Alberto Martin, who had just come from another ATP event only a cpl of days prior to his first round match against Safin.
Other than his Australian Open victory Safin has not made it passed the third round in any other tournament this season
I'd be very surprised if Safin got up and won this match after a problematic knee was reported after his 2nd round match (due to recurring tendonitis), lets hope he doesn't retire hurt if he begins to lose. My tip would be to put the bet on with a bookie who doesn't void the bet if a player retires after the first set.
Ferrero over Safin - $1.62 (William Hill)
Finns4 05-28-2005, 02:23 AM Safin X PHM = $7.45 worth a shot (1unit)
flmmkrz 05-28-2005, 02:46 AM Safin X PHM = $7.45 worth a shot (1unit)
no its not.
Dropping a unit on both of them in singles is worth a shot, or half a unit even on each even but throwing 2 upsets into a parlay is reaching.

Too each his own, your unit value may differ from mine aswell
dbnumberone 05-28-2005, 04:29 AM double on Andreev, Kiefer is winning b/c of weak opponents, not b/c of newfound claycourt genius

Agree with you here ....under normal circumstances Fererro should beat Safin on clay...what moer with Safin being injured!.......by the way just like to remiind you in case you may not know William Hill voids all bets should a player retires in the middle of the match
Breaker 05-28-2005, 07:28 AM Didn't know that mate, I just put up the best price currently available (at the time) - I took Ferrero at TAB Sportsbet earlier this morning
Robredo x Puerta x Bryan/Bryan @2.21
Volandri x Dechy x Coria @2.62
Added Kiefer x Sharapova and Haas x Kuznetsova
risky game with my Friday wins
My final plays:
Volandri x Coria (5 units)
Andreev x Coria x Robredo x Canas (2 units)
And I just hit Nadal to win RG outright... 5 units at 3.25. He will win it!
