If i am not mistaken Tommy is terrified when is to compete against strong serving ball-bashers(remember Gulbis for instance)....because but for this "con" Robredo against volatile Cillic looks swell.....
And why are you all so radiant about Haas prospects versus Kolya.....there were no reports about Russians injury,Davy is absolutely aware of how to cope with Germans weapons and it seem to me that Dave with his squad have decided to change their strategy from competing in 200 clashes to gradual preperation for important HC American summer swing.....so looks not so clear for me.

Yeah absolutely no guarantee Cilic will win. The guy is treated like he's the new king of tennis - Gulbis was treated the same and look what happened. Robredo is a tough cookie, I don't expect him to go down easily.

No straight pick on Davydenko - Haas. Haas temper is suspect and Davydenko is coming straight from the loss to Becker at Wimbledon. Very risky match. Perhaps a bet on +1.5 sets on Tommy can go with some of the WTA:

Haas looked in top form yesterday, albeit against a terrible Moya. I know he doesn't like to face Denko but Nikolay struggles to adapt to a new surface. If this match was taking place at the Us Open, I would favour Davy as he would have had a few more matches under his belt on this surface, but as it is, he hasn't played for a month now and he is one of those players that needs to play regularly to get into a ryhtym.

Tursunov to beat F.Lopez @ 1.75

I think Dima is better facing a player that gives him pace and doesn't allow him time to think too much. He seems to like a target at the net as shown by his many beatings of Henman
show and in the last 18 months has beaten the likes of Mahut, Llodra, Guccione, Eaton, F.Lopez, Kevin Anderson, Querrey, Dancevic, Bjorkman, Mirnyi and Waske who are either or both big servers and serve volleyers. He also doesn't seem to have many big deals with lefties with a 8-3 record against them over the last 18 months.
He is coming into this tournament with confidence after a final appearance in Indianapolis and generally plays well on the North American hard courts.

Was talking to Jaap yesterday about the Haas/Davydenko match and i said one best to avoid. however sleeping on it ive decided to go with Haas, and the only reason being is that Davy hasent played since wimbledon and could be a little rusty, i know he hates grass but losing to Becker 1st round is shocking

Just read this after i posted-thats the key word with Davydenko ryhtym- Donkey usually plays so many tournies each year and he gets confidence from that-he hasent played for a while now and that could just find him out

Paszek over Penetta 7/4 - Gonna stick with Tamira, good win over the tricky nakumura to end a pretty bad losing streak, we cant forget how young she is but she did reach the Q/F of the Us open a while back and has enough power to rip through flavias clay strokes, could be worth a go.

Matric over Zakapolova 6/4- Gonna stick with home hope here, Zara a pure clay queen if i ever saw one always seems to struggle on quicker courts and Matric has a shout here.

Sodarlings game is solid , his mentality is weak ( he almost won against nalbandian in argentine , he easily beat canas yesterday) so ...

Canas at one stage was serving at 18% 1st serve towards the end of the 1st set

ended on 44% which really is poor.
