Please no rain in Stuttgart & Gstaad Saturdaykinster 07-11-2008, 07:39 PM Verdasco over Berdych @1.80 Berdych is losing 1-5 to left handers this year cardio 07-11-2008, 08:30 PM Hanescu @4.7 GGL @ 2.86 Amritraj@3.15 Robredo @2.92 Del Potro @ 1.58 TheBrainiac 07-11-2008, 09:47 PM Del Potro to beat Schwank , large bet at - 165 . Lucky escape by Schwank today due to rain , Del Potro way too strong on the serve . Ontie 07-12-2008, 12:19 AM BERDYCH over Verdasco @2.38, 5 units ANDREEV over Garcia-L. @1.40, 10 units AMRITRAJ over Dancevic @3.35 (no voiding with retirement), 2 units Timotheus 07-12-2008, 12:34 AM Hanescu +4 over Wawa @ 1.75 4/10 Over 21 Games @ 1.85 5/10 A massive bet for me, with also 5 units on over 21 games (other pick). Tall Romanian Victor Hanescu has always been a decent player with a good serve, but what he has been portraying this week is simply brilliant. He has won ALL his 39 servicegames, faced just 5 breakpoints in total and won an amazing 82% and 77% on his first and second serve respectively. Combined with winning 4 out of 5 tiebreaks, this makes him a force to be reckoned with. His returngame isn't anything special, but with play like this on his servicegames, you can come a long way. His victims thusfar are Olivier Patience (7-6 6-2), Ivo Karlovic (3 tiebreaks) and Chardy (6-3 7-6). Today will be his second encounter with home fav Wawrinka, whom he beat in 2004 on clay as well. Wawa has been looking a bit shaky this week, with an undeserved win over Stephane Bohli 7-6(6) 5-7 7-6(3), with his opponent having momentum in all sets, and an extremely lucky win over Guillermo Canas as well, coming back from 5-3 final set to win it 4-6 6-4 7-6. Hanescu is virtually unbreakable this week and Wawrinka has it all to lose here. I can see the Romanian taking it to some tiebreaks to say the least. I'll divide my stakes between the over 21 games bet and this one. Amritraj v Dancevic: Over 22.5 Games @1.85 Dancevic has been having a decent week with his semi final reached here, but the way he reached the final is far from convincing. He seems fit again after injury issues earlier this year and is now on a great 11-2 run on grass. The powerful Canadian has a great serve but his return game isn't the best one out there. Amritraj isn't the most well known player out there, but is indeed a grass specialist (just like Qureshi and Bopanna, who were also in the spotlights this week). The Indian is 8-3 on the surface this year and has impressed with wins over Sirianni, Levine and Bopanna. He lost his serve just one and is looking solid on first and second serve with his dangerous serve and volley style. This match has tiebreak written all over it and with one long set the bet is partially in the pocket. It could be an even match (more even than the odds suggest) but I'll go with this option here, hoping for a Dancevic win since I have always been a fan. JMDP -2.5 over Schwank @ 1.97 Juan Martin Del Potro has been THE player who stood out this week for me. I made the mistake to bet against him versus Bolelli but after seeing his match against Superbol and later against home fav Kohlschreiber I just have to follow the red hot Argentine. He has beaten Korolev, Bolelli and Kohlschreiber now this week, losing just 1 set and has been great mentally as well. He has a big serve and despite his length, he is a very quick and agile player. He has been surprising me with his great shots this week, hardly making the difference in forehand and backhand winners it seems. He is technically superior to Schwank and if he can keep the amount of his unforced errors low, he should clinch it with ease. Schwank is a nice talent as well. He is a typical claycourt baseliner (with the same weightwatchers as Nalbandian working for him ;) ) and he is always nice to watch on court. With his weak serve and an opponent who can play his game but better, things should become very difficult for him. He started with a strange win over Coria with 0-6 6-1 6-2 and had a strange match against mediocre Hernych as well, grabbing a bagel in the first and almost losing after this, but being saved by a rain delay. In between he beat German big server Andreas Beck 7-6(5) 6-2. Del Potro should again reach the level he has this week and should outplay the Argentine then. He is more stable mentally and has the serve and technique over Schwank. bavaria100 07-12-2008, 01:24 AM Verdasco @ 1.82 (2 units), Andreev @ 1.38 (4 units) and Ferrer @ 1.5 ( 4 units) for me. Berdych on the otherhand is playing some decent tennis this week and beaten higher calibre players. Berdych isn't too bad vs left handers. He has beaten Verdasco 3 times in his career, Nadal 3 times, 2-0 h2h vs Nieminen. Maybe struggles against serve and volley left handers such as Llodra but against baseline left handers, he is alright. Spadea is a solid baseliner and won't net rush like Qureshi and Navarro do which Fabrice loves.
