Dima had a lot of UE's in the third set, and was 3/14 on BP's- not a great day for him...

Terrific job for Gaudio- so happy to see this result. :woohoo:

(:secret: Is it too much to ask for another win Gato? Vamos!)

Tursunov was hilarious on all those set points he missed in the first. You could see him muttering "Make him play, make him play" to himself while waiting for the serve but when the ball arrived he just couldn't resist smacking it as hard as he could either long or into the net.

First set was pretty horrible with 54 unforced errors between them. Gaudio was very impressive after that but it still wasn't enough to make him look anything other than clinically depressed.

Just a few fragile signs that Gaudio is getting out of the appalling slump he has been in - he doesn't seem yet to be confident in his play, but at least the play itself has improved!

Of course I like Dima and Novak btw, but I'll be so happy if he would be able to make it tomorrow as well. Vamos Gato :)

Hope it's not an incident, but more of a process that will lead GG back to where he belongs in the clay society.

Dima, on clay, is a joke.

Vamos Gaston, keep going. :D

Gaston :woohoo:
Well beating dima on clay isn't *that* impressive, but given his form lately it's a good win! Good luck against Nole:D

A needed win but it will take a miracle to prevent him from dropping out of the top 50 for the first time in 5 years.

Great play Gastón!

:woohoo: Congrats! :D

Somehow I saw this coming :D

Me too, I predicted him to the QFs in the Monte Carlo QFs thread, so just a few more wins.

everybody knows dima cannot play on clay to save his life

04-16-2007, 06:38 PM
Vamos Gaudio! Keep it up!

04-16-2007, 06:43 PM
I'm having a really crappy day. First Henman, then Tursunov and now Murray looks like he's out of MC for this year. Bugger bugger Bugger!

04-16-2007, 07:05 PM
Mitya has won a total of 2 matches this year. It looks like he's not gonna score another win till grass-court season, at best...

04-16-2007, 10:04 PM
Vamos El Gato!!!

He looked pretty calm on court.

04-16-2007, 10:20 PM
Congrats Gato

Wow, he defeated a clay clown. Best thing about this match was that Gaudio won, there is a very long way to go before there could he been considered out of the slump let along near the level he can play.

I was surprised at Gaudio´s level, I thought he was going to be miles worse than this, maybe there´s light at the end of the tunnel for him
