Anyway, Nalby losing in Nadal in Mallorca is kind of expected. I would love to watch them play each other in a match that matters.

The fortunate thing for Rafa, unlike for some other tennis players was that he actually could choose if he wanted to play or not. Some players were just not good enough to advance to the 2nd round, even when paired with a 2nd top ten player. It must suck to have two top ten players and still lose in the first round of DC.

Nadal confirmed participation in this exo _before_ DC started. Actually, the tournament was already publicising his participation _before_ Nadal announced he wouldn't participate in DC due to foot injury (early during Miami tournament).

Federer used to play DC a few years ago, he has skipped it a lot since he became SuperFed using the burnout excuse, probably also since he reckons Switzerland has small chances of winning the whole thing. Nadal just did the same.
