Igor Andreev: Do he and Kuznetsova have the same playing style?

They're groundstrokes and serves look very similar. A lot of people on these tennis boards say that Igor and Kuznetsova aka Sveta have a history or a connection of some sort. I see the connection as far as playing style, but is there anything else? I also want to know what does Igor have to do to truly come back and start winning titles in '07? I think he's a great player who I enjoy watching. I know he reached the finals in Sydney last year, but now he's been losing to everybody these days.

No comparison between ATP and WTA, please.

apart from being from Russia and have trained in Spain, there's no more comparision between them IMO, bad comparision, comparing ATP and WTA is something forbidden in this places... also Igor was trained in Valencia while Sveta in Barcelona by Sanchez-Vicario academy

Why not?

WTA sucks, and there's something called wtaworld.com, that can be even worse than MTF when it comes to trolling and all. ;)

lol I love that word "trolling." :) It is possible for female players and male players to be influenced by each other. For me, Sveta has a masculine game. I think it would be more inappropriate if I compared Sharapova to some ATP player. But Sveta, nope.

I don't think Sveta muscles her forehand with nearly as much topspin as Andreev does.

I actually don't think it's the worst comparison in the world

It's offence to Kuznetsova really... Besides, Andreev is claycourter, Kuznetsova is hardcourter.

Even though Sveta made the Roland Garros final. She's a mental case against Henin. I'm not knowledgeable of Sveta's claycourt record in her career, but judging from her claycourt training, shouldn't be considered a claycourter as well? She does all the sliding with the topspin.

Kuznetsova. :scared:

She's been to 2 Slam finals while Andreev is nobody for tennis history.
I think it's pleasing when you're compared to the better player...

your 10 day slate, this post might of gotten you a late WC into the arseclown...

Aside from the fact that they both like girls, there is no other similarity, in playing style or shots or anything....

I'm going to have to agree with adee-gee. Give the poor guy a break. I'm not sure why people insist on opening every thread and acting like a bitchy high-school girl, but might it be OK just to answer someone's question politely every once in a while?

Kuzzy hits huge topspin, delicate at the net, crafty on slice, emennsly strong groundies - one of the hardest hit inside-out forehands on the women's tour, and mentaly prone to brainfarting.
she has a bad serve, though she does try to kick it, something rare on the women's side of things.

She's crafty on red-stuff, highly succesful on hard courts and victorious upon grass. she's one of the better players playing these days on the women's tour.

but i guess the most important fact upon her short career is that she's grown up upon the laps of Martina Navratilova and Aranxta Sanchez-Vicario, both with whom she's captured double crown aplenty.
These partners built and propelled her career to where it is today. i don't think Igor has the same caliber of history, success nor game-style Kuznetsova has, but I agree that there is a certain simularity as of background.

and Kuznetsova really does have a bulky mascular build. her weight transition is second only to Clijsters ATM, IMO.

as for the MTF disapproval of anything WTA, thier loss. there are plenty of simularities easy to spot, begginig with the world #1s and the state of US tennis, as well as tour managment, style rarities and youngster hype.
what can you do, it's the same sport. I follow men's tennis even though i'm far less intrested in it, because it's a direct family member of my favorite past-time.

she [Kuznetsova] has a bad serve

She doesn't. She was serving huge on her last two matches at IW. It's a matter of confidence - when she doesn't have it (say, during last year's indoor season and her laughably bad performances at the YEC), her serve goes away.

As for Andreev, no idea. I've never seen him play.

Get over it, it's the game of tennis people are going to compare the men to the women. I can't stand this chauvinistic attitude some people have that it's forbidden to compare the two genders.

Just about all women are crap at tennis. Simple as that.
