I bowled 137 last night!!!

I usually don't go bowling more than once a year...

Last night I went bowling with my friends and I got 137, this obviously is my highest score ever, I'm quite happy, but I have a dilemma now, do I quit while I hold my personal record, or do I go again and risk not breaking the 100.....

How good / bad are you at bowling???

Ahhh here we go :) Everyone on this board plays tennis.. but tenpin bowling is the sport I participate in on a weekly basis

I've been bowling in a league for 13 years and my current official league average is 154. Last night I bowled 154, 119 and 161.

My highest score is 226... 3 weeks ago a guy in my league bowled a perfect 300 game

Bowling is a great social game to play and a lot of fun to do in a league :) You should definitely go again and try to beat the 137! Don't quit now and never know if you could have gone even better :yeah:

My highest score was 170 or something. That was when i used to go on a weekly basis but the bowling alley in our town is now closed so that's a bit gutting

Ah, this was once an obsession of mine. I use to go bowling every week in my University league and I entered loads of tournaments. I even played in a Bowling Marathon (12 hours non-stop bowling  ) in Leeds - good memories.

But then it gradually faded away. I don't think I've been to a bowling ally in almost two years. My highest ever score was a 237.

I can't even bowl 137. I'm excited to break 100, which means that I frequently get 98, 99... :smash:

I was on an intramural bowling team one semester in college, though, just for fun. Since we had a handicap system, we actually did quite well.

Thankyou for bringing back common sense. I actually have epilepsy and can't play sports that require a lot of running so bowling is an alternative competitive activity with a lot of skill required. I had much coaching in my junior days and entered tournaments, now I just play in a fun league each week.

Yep that's pretty excellent since it took me a good 2 years to get my first 200 game!

Whatever you think, I don't really care... but as I said I've been doing it for 13 years. That's about how long you've been alive right?

and before you respond to that, let me point out that I haven't heard kids call things 'gay' since I was in year 7 and 8 when I was 13 years old.

Bowling is a serious sport? Sports are for athletes and bowlers are most defintiely not athletes. If you can weigh 300+ pounds and do something, it's not considered a sport.

What's next? Playing solitaire on the computer?

Bowling is a hobby...end of story.

So sumo wrestling isn't a sport either... and neither is heavyweight boxing (well actually I'd agree with boxing not being a sport).

A hobby is not something that you get coaching for day in and day out and enter state championships for. It's a sport.

Sumo wrestling is not a sport by any means. Sports are played by athletes and an athlete is described as someone who can run at least one lap around a track. Sumo wrestlers most certainly cannot do that, neither can 90% of bowlers. Heavyweight boxers however can certainly run laps and those are athletes (well some of them).

Ah yep we'll just agree to disagree like we do most of the time ;)

i bowled last week and got a 100 and 114 :o :o :o

Well, you've certainly lived the life!

Why thank you I most certainly have had a most enriched life benefitting GREATLY from my bowling experiences :) I've travelled around the whole of Victoria in a travel league bowling against different centres, I've won tournaments, I've got out of bowling what I wanted to and I've had fun doing it without getting myself an epileptic episode for the trouble like I would if I took up something like tennis :)

Why must people feel the need to run someone into the ground for doing something they enjoy?

That's really not so bad for a non-regular bowler. There is a girl in my league who hasn't been bowling for that long but started in the league this year and she still has an average of only about 85

Don't you have anything better to do than keep posting in my threads off topic just for the sake of arguing and pissing people off.

I've asked before and I'm going to ask again, please (pretty please) stay away from threads I start, especially if you're not going to contribute something to the topic.
