Have you guys voted on this site yet? I think it's pretty cool that we get to choose which structures are deserving to be called the New 7 Wonders.

These are what I voted for:

1. Angkor, Cambodia
2. Christ Redeemer, Rio de Janeiro Brazil
3. Great Wall of China, China
4. The Kremlin & Red Square, Moscow Russia
5. Machu Picchu, Peru
6. The Pyramids of Giza, Egypt
7. The Taj Mahal, Agra India

Here is the site btw: http://www.new7wonders.com

I wonder why Sagrada Familia is not included in the choices. I would have voted for that in a heartbeat.

Sagrada Familia? Oh please :haha: - I think it needs to be completed to be a new wonder :haha: And it is not that great anyway, just a bit of gothic :wavey:

I dont think Pyramids should be in the list as they are in the original one, although, it means there will be none from Africa if we get rid of them.

I think the Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, but they are a natural wonder

Because the experts that had to make the choice which 21 wonders would come into the choice needed to reduce from 77 to 21. And you can be sure that there were some hard choices. I think the selection of them is good though. :)

What I was wondering is: Are they just going to discard the 'old' seven wonders of the world?

There are major doubts that several of them existed, but when they get out of date you cant just discard them, like rubbing the original Beatles out of history and replacing them with Kieran, Mark, Antony and Jacob its just not done.

But, I do believe Stonehenge,the Acropolis,Maccu Piccu,Angkor,Petra
and several others should be recognised for later generations to be reminded of the achievements civilisations accomplished without modern technology.

No they will remain the 7 antic wonders, how they are already called today. They won't be substituted by the new ones.

I voted already some time ago for:

Great wall, Petra, Christ Redeemer, Kolosseum, Alhambra, Hagia Sofia, and (not anymore completely sure about the last one) Sidney Opera.

And despite of Christ and the Sidney Opera me or my mum or both of us saw the things I voted for.
