Great. Finally he's done sth, although he should've smoked RRH in 2 easy sets. But he's not in his greats, so anyway good win. Possible encounter with Haas, as Stepanek is not doing well this year

I don't like to see anyone as fucking useless as he has been purely because of confidence issues. If you're crap because you're crap, fair enough. That's not his problem - and it was becoming ridiculous. It's good to see him getting a few wins under his belt again here and there.

When I tuned in it was 5-0 Ramirez in the 2nd and I thought another one was gone for Gaudio, but he managed to pull it together for the 3rd :)

This is all that needs to be seen. If he is outplayed by a good player then that's fine. It's the fact that he doesn't care which is a real shame to see.

It´s the other way round: his problem is that he feels totally miserable when he plays badly.

Gastón was elated after winning yesterday, and this is more or less what he said:

“To win playing well is easy, what´s complicated is to win playing badly. But today I had to win in any way at all. We´re at that point where perhaps to win a couple of matches playing badly could be the road leading to my playing my best tennis again”.

I hope he can begin to regain his confidence and beat Stepanek today (if it stops raining!)
