I haven't seen Bachinger, Reister, and Kamke on any challenger entry or alt list for that week. That could mean they're indeed planing to play Munich qualies.

The lists are in the challengers' section of mtf. But first they are usually postet at steve g. (http://www.stevegtennis.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=23&sid=e35954abe6fecdccb30bf687db05abf3).

Challenger entry lists are made four weeks in advance. But there is no such list for qualies. Players just sign in on friday before the qualies begin.

what about the entry-list for the qulifying?

Qualy entry lists exist only for Grand Slams, Masters Events and International Series Gold events (like Barcelona). For the smaller tournaments like Munich players just sign in for qualifying until friday afternoon (I think it's 6 pm or so). So you will see who is playing when the draw has been made on friday night.

But at least they show all matches from 13.30 until the end. On free tv, they would only show 1 or 2 matches each day I'm sure.

DSF shows only one match each day from Hamburg. That's pathetic.

I have to agree with JMG. The DSF coverage of Hamburg is crap.

I'd rather pay a small fee and have all matches instead of only one match per day with tons of call in commercials.

Compare that with the great Halle coverage which will have more hours of live tennis than Hamburg, interviews etc. Halle is the inofficial german Masters Series Tournament. At least when it comes to the way it is treated by the TV channels. Thx to Gerry Webers money.

And according to the "tennismagazin", "Bayerischer Rundfunk" might show the SF and the Final, but only in case a german player advances that far. I think Haas can do it. It's only a Mickey Mouse tourney after all, even if it's clay.

Crap. Besides the Grand Slam tournaments (and possibly Halle) there seems to be absolutely none men´s tennis in German TV anymore ...

Well, DSF is having live coverage of all german tournies, except Munich.

Hamburg, Duesseldorf (together with WDR), Halle (with ZDF) and Stuttgart. Add to that the DC SF and they also got the rights for the DC Final.

Eurosport 2 is also having good Tennis coverage, so it's really worth getting that channel. Next week they'll show Estoril.

Four:Love: Okay, okay (didn´t know Hamburg is shown - I think it was only in pay-TV the last few years), but it still could be much more. And it WAS much more (and especially much longer!) in the past ... *sigh*

Yappa
04-27-2007, 10:29 PM
Nope, Hamburg has also been shown on Free TV (be it NDR, DSF or even XXP), but only a few matches. Premiere had live coverage of the whole tourney and the other Masters Series Events, but that's in the past. Nowadays nobody is showing any Masters Series matches expect those few Hamburg ones on DSF.

Seems that the DTB is not that stupid to have coverage of the most important german tournament on Pay TV only. That's why they deal with the Pay TV channel Arena didn't happen.

Ralf17
04-28-2007, 10:58 AM
Oh yes, NDR and XXP are the explanation why I couldn´t remember. Because I don´t receive this programmes here in Bavaria (on cable) ...
