Who will beat Vilas winning streak?

You know Iīm a little bit disappointed. Federer was so close. Do you think that heīs able to repeat a streak like this again and break that record?
I donīt want Vilas to mantain this record because he didnīt achieve that playing on different surfaces. I donīt think thatīs fair.
When Nadal broke his claycourt winning streak Vilas said something like: "It doesnīt matter, my most important record will never be broken: the longest winning streak in Open Era".

Ok I have to admit it. The title of the thread is stupid. I know that nowadays only Federer can break that record. What I meant is: Do you think that Federer is able to repeat again a winning streak like that? He has two winning streaks among the longest 12.

46-Guillermo Vilas (July-Sept. 1977)
44-Ivan Lendl (Sept. 1981-Feb. 1982)
42-John McEnroe (Jan.-May 1984)
41-Bjorn Borg (Oct. 1979-April 1980)
41-x-Roger Federer (Aug. 2006-March 2007)
35-Bjorn Borg (May-Aug. 1978)
35-Thomas Muster (April-June 1995)
35-Roger Federer (June-Nov. 2005)
31-Bjorn Borg (May-Aug. 1979)
31-Ivan Lendl (Aug.-Nov. 1985)
30-Jimmy Connors (July-Oct. 1978)
29-Bjorn Borg (Oct.-Nov. 1977)

Only Borg seems to be more regular than him. But I feel that in Indian Wells Federer has lost his last chance of breaking the record.

Good that you realise it's stupid. Next time think before opening a new thread.

That said, Dlouhy will beat Vilas winning streak.

I have readed the threads you have started: Your "Is Nalbandian the Argentine Dlouhy?" (among many others) doesn´t sound very intelligent, you know.

Nadal if he can keep up his act until Bastad in June. That would be about 50 or 60 matches :p

Bjorn Borg has the real streak.

If the ATP feels that the streak isn't legit due to a couple of walkovers then it's their problem.

1978 - look it up.

Federer's the only guy that is capable of such a streak, but I dont think he will get that close again. He could very well have another 30+ win streak, but I doubt he will be in the 40's again.

I have seen the threads you started: Your "Is Nalbandian the Argentine Dlouhy?" (among many others) donīt sound very intelligent, you know.

People with more than 2 brain cells can realise Dlouhy's ability, you seem not able to fulfill that requirement.
