it really annoys me - especially from Andy Murray - its not once every so often, its constant! it stuff like this that ruins tennis matches.

i think more warnings and fines need to be dished out to teach them the manners their parents didnt give them

murray definitely is the worst culprit. he sets a very poor example with his on court demeanour and should be ashamed of himself

Wow, you two are on a Murray-bashing spree

I find Andy's self-deprecating behavior and the subsequent :banghead: expressions on Brad's face utterly hilarious. Good times! :D

I noticed Murray doing that more than usual yesterday. Couldn't always hear it, but if you're a half way decent lip reader...;)

You criticise Andy so much now you have no credibility where he is concerned you just come accross as biased and bitter.

Not exaclty the best way to advertise yourself as a trainer, bass player etc

Another thread with that allows tennis fans obsessed with players behavior rather than talking about the actual game of tennis to sound off.

I've watched sports a long time and watch many different sports - and I can honestly say that tennis fans are by far the most obsessed with player's behavior.

That plus Hasi's shrieking and babbling - who says Germans are robotic? :haha: Last night's match was :yippee::cuckoo::silly::hysteric::crazy:.

Yes, and the contrast between the swearing and Haas running to take care of Andy and massaging his foot with the affection of a mother... :awww:

Yes that is so true, because most of the tennis world is still stuck in the past. I don't really get into the complaining about behaviour of tennis players unless they take it far, like being disrespectful. For me if it doesn't fly out in the real world it shouldn't on a tennis court. And cursing usually flies in the reall world. But the diesrespect of the umps, they'd probably get handled by some of those umpires if it weren't a televised match. I know If I were one, I would want to catch one of players alone in a ally.

Tennis isn't football. We want players that can behave like adults on court.

right, because all we want are well behaved robots. Cursing adds a degree to expressing your frustrations. You can't get quite the same effect with "shoot, that flooping ball and the mother flocking net!" Please, who gives a shit. Quit being whiny bitches and pretending you've never cursed in your lives

An oldster, (50,) I can remember seeing both Ilie Nastase and John P. McEnroe, Jr., in their playing days. They were bad boys then, as was Jimbo Connors. As you age, you mellow. I think I am crazy/spiritual/clairvoyant enough, now, that I can communicate with Ilie, on a bulletin board. Maybe not always coherently...but, it is communication. [Don't ask me how I think I know it's Mr. Nastase.]

As Mr. Murray ages, perhaps he will mellow. He'll have to, if he wants to be sociable with his peers...assuming...assuming that he's not some foreign peer of a non-Scots country, in the resurrection, living out the good life, as a tennis pro.

Please tell Nasty that I said hello! I miss him - he was a hoot to watch. :yeah:

And I miss Johnny Mac and Jimmy too. Just a hint though - people on MTF don't like their behavior either. Tennis is a gentlemen's sport, they claim. And Jimmy and John as we all know were no gentlemen. ;)

Precisely. Anyway, even renowned gentleman Tim Henman curses every other word while on-court. they all do it, and besides theyre only WORDS. Tennis can be far too prudish sometimes!

One side of me thinks it is fun and adds drama but all I really want to say was that Tommy Haas showed some fun fieriness and yet class concern for his opponent. I think Andy Murray's personality is really rather irritating and that he takes it too far with his bad behaviour. I like the creativity in his game but too bad his personality is obnoxious. I guess I am just old fashioned in a way but I love the understated personalities of Federer and Justine Henin (she and Roger both have their moments where they yell Allez or C'mon but WITHIN REASON). You won't see Justine or Federer cursing at their coaches and blaming others for their losses.

Richard_from_Cal

What if he's a bloody, or...bloody-minded Scot...from long-ago...a warrior prince...holding up England's end, 'til the youth development program kicks in and gives a replacement for Mr. Henman, at the top? :retard:

Yeah o.k you don't have to start threads about it when you make it know in every thread started by some else dedicated to that player. Or even threads that have nothing to do with that player, but some how turn into a debate about him..yeah hum.

Now it's poor muzza's getting picked on. Boohoo join the Roddick/nadal and others sob story board. Nothing new here.

As far as being a nice unswearing man on court is concerned, Federer and Nadal are tops. Uncle Toni it seems was very persuasive about inculcating good manners into Nadal.

Nothing I've heard from the court compares in frequency and intensity.
When obscenities are used so often, they damn well lose their meaning and significance.
