Murray has no chance, judging by the way he played against Haas.

Djokovic 6-1 6-2.

Exactly, he will not allow Murray too get away with things he did against :retard: Haas.

Murray has one thing on his side in that he's young and can recover more quick than the average player. However, the odds are against him again tomorrow. I hope he pulls off the win, though.

I'd be amazed if Andy was able to physically recover well enough to make this seriously competitive. The adrenaline is now wearing off - things will start to hurt properly. Novak in 3, I'm afraid. And to be honest, Novak is the Good Luck Kid in this tournament - he hasn't had to beat 2 top 10 players to make it this far. I don't begrudge him that - them's the draws. I just note it.

Djokovic.
I have a premonition they have a great rivalry ahead with many matches in the semis or finals of the biggest events. But tommorow will win Nole and it is a good omen for him in the future.

Federer was the worst sequential of this tournament ;) He lost to Cañas who lost to Waske who lost to Dancevic. OMG, this Federer is really lousy

But I'm still rooting for Andy...

Muzza in 2. He's had the harder draw and proved that he's really mentally and game wise up for it this week. Only problem might be stamina but even so he looks fitter this year too. So yeah Muzza in 2 :p

Loremaster
03-17-2007, 09:16 AM
Murray won't recover in any way mentally and his body was well wouldn't be 100% especially after his problems with ankle and Nole won't give him anything on court I think that Murray has problems with playing such players like Nole they do not attack him to much but just rally great not making UE and Muzza is making many errors in rallies maybe I am wrong but he plays the best when he is on defence he is not so great when he have to figure something out and be more agressive side.

In my opnion Nole in 2 but could go to 3
But Djokovic is Kid of Luck such weak draw up to SF he hasn't faced anyone who had tools to beat him and now he plays with guy who wouldn't be 100% fit

And it is interesting how this tourney is going it could start two new rivalries Djoko-Murray Andy-Rafa
But whatever happens I think the winner will come from Andy-Rafa match

Agree with most of what's been said. If they were equally fresh, I think Andy would win (he really should've won that much in Madrid).

Fact is, there's no way Murray will be at 100% and he needs to be for his type of game. It would take a monumental effort for Muzza to come through.

Allez
03-17-2007, 09:45 AM
Even if Murray hadn't injured himself, I'd still have given the edge to Nole. With the injury though Murray will be lucky to win more than 5 games in the match. Wow these two are in a race of their own. Novak's slightly ahead at the moment...The future is very exciting with these two right on the edge :yeah:

Loremaster
03-17-2007, 09:50 AM
Even if Muzza manges to somehow come through in 3 sets he would be dead in final especially that he hasn't got even 20h of rest and he won't get between his SF and F and I don't see him beating Nole in 2

You'd have to favour Djoko in this match but never count Murray out either.

Assuming they both play well and neither of them sustain any physical ailments it should be a cracking match.

The heart says Murray. At long last we Brits have some one who just might go the whole way but surely he can't possibly recover from such a match in something like 18 hours and carrying a suspect thigh and ankle?

I wouldn't be surprised for Djokovic to win quite easily but I'm more than satisfied with Andy's progress this week.

The top 10 is not far away.

I don't think the poster said it in comparison with Nole. Just that Murray can recover quickly because he's young. :)

Djokovic will win against an unfit Murray for sure. It's a shame we can't see a real battle between these two without the Murray injury.

explicit
03-17-2007, 12:27 PM
Why?

Because Djokovic is my compatriot and probably the best Serbian player since... well, ever, so here everyone is quite histerical about him.

But I just can't make myself like him. Plus, I think Murray is a better player.

What does it mean "fit Andy"? If he can't win his matches faster it's up to him to solve the problem. There would be no match like fit Andy vs Novak, cause according to their ranking they can meet no sooner than in a QF or R4

Well here is how it goes every time in this tournament:

Everyone predicts Andy to lose badly because he has sucked so much in this tournament so far

Andy beats his opponent by taking away their strengths and playing on their weaknesses.

Everyone rushes to the board to tell us how much his opponent tanked/choked/was injured/was out of form (even if he was against the most on fire player on the whole tour) and how Murray is a lucky moonballer who will never achieve anything.

Magenta
03-17-2007, 12:56 PM
I wouldn't count Andy out, he's always dangerous and like someone said he's young, recovery is faster.
Everyone's tipping Nole but they tipped Haas too..
I just hope its a great match but having said that I hope my boy pulls through although I do have a soft spot for Andy...so best of luck to both! :)

Novak in 2 sets - Murray will be tired...

Dancing Hero
03-17-2007, 01:14 PM

I'll go Djokovic in straight sets. Because Murray is um, injured.

At this stage in their careers a fully fit Đoković has a slight edge over a fully fit Murray. My personal opinion. I don't think Murray is quite there yet, physically.

I'm sure that he's not sandbagging but a good nights sleep and who knows, tomorrow Andy might be 100% despite indications that he's injured.

That's why I hope Novak goes out on court all guns blazing against the Scot tomorrow. He'll need to.

Murray has won every match this year he's played which has gone to 3 sets. He outlasted Davydenko mentally, and against Haas it was the German who was struggling more physically towards the end.

Byrd

Murray being tired is a non-factor as hes had two weeks offs before playing IW, the only concern is the potential injury.

And the next day he has to do it all over again. Stringing a whole tournament together is not that easy. Especially for the youngsters.

Murray fans already coming up with excuses, guess what he finnished and won a match and had a much longer rest period than Nole and it was Nole who played in daytime in brutal conditions but it's all part of the game. I am looking forward to this match and we will see the contrast in styles and mentality. Nole will have to deal with pressure as he is a slight favourite

I think Djokovic will win but Murray's shown that he'll be dangerous all year. He's beaten the world number 4 and possibly the form player on the tour to get here, so losing in the SF's is no disgrace.

Those of you who are saying the Murray fans are coming out with excuses are idiots!

Have you been sleeping this tournament? Nole has had easy opponents all tournament where Murray has had such a tough draw. And Murray has been on court against Haas a long time, hurt his hip and has very little recovery time.

These are no excuses, just fact as to why Nole has the advantage but if they were both equal in their draw then it would be fair.

danton
03-17-2007, 06:02 PM
I think Murray has the better big match temprement now. Nole has had it easy but it will have been hot out there so it wasn't without physical impact.

I have put a little money on Murray putting my money where my mouth is.

A lot of people here make sound like it is Novak fault he had draw he had  As someone already stated he can only play against player who is in front of him, he had in his quarter Federer and Blake, but it is not his fault they had lost and then Novak's draw opened  He is just taking every opportunity he has, and it is working for him just fine :)
