Nalbandian will fall out of top 10

Who ever out of Murray and Djokovic wins will knock Nalbandian out of the top 10.

Yes but it's not big deal - he should reagin top10 status soon Points difference is small between positions 3-15

But these youngsters are packing up there now, and interesting Nalbandian didn't play against them much at all... Never against Nadal, and I remember just one match against Murray (Wimbledon, Nalby won in five). You wonder how motivated Nalby will be against them, and how sucessfull

Totally expected. I was surprised when he dropped only to ATP 11 after AO.
He has a lot of points to defend. But after June, he has only Madrid as good result to defend. He had a horrible half year with illness and injuries . He played almost nothing and, for what he can do, badly. (still managed to be SF at the MC.. that's Nalby  )
From what I heard he has plans to play more this year, I just hope he recuperates his level of play soon.

Nalbi was #3 not so long ago... such a waste of talent. I can't understand how carting and fishing can be more interesting than tennis, but it looks like he thinks different

i'm really happy that this nasty man is finally out of top 10! not that i'm against him or something but i believe even andy murray deserves more than him to be among the top 10s!
the guy's been a top-tener for a while now and has won just 3-4 career titles in more than 6 years having turned pro!!!
is absolutely hilarious for a top ten player though!!!

The "nasty man" is the only besides Federer to reach at least SF in every GS, won a MC. The thing is he doesn't play enough tournaments. Also, in 6 years of carrer he ended top 10 in 4 seasons and played 3 MC.. there are current top ten that played one or nothing and have more time as pro than him. Also Nalbandian won more money in prize than a lot of the top ten too... And, something important for him (as GS as himslef said), since he plays, Argentina reached two years SF and a final at the DC (with him playing three points over five)
Is not only number of tittles is what you do and where you do it. How many Top ten has SF and F in GS?
He has a particular (let's call it that  ) view about the tennis in his life. But like it or not, he has more talent and better tennis mind than, five of the top ten together.

Funny thing is I think that him and Federer are the only two players that can beat anyone on any surface. To date he nor Federer has beaten Nadal on clay, but I do believe the two of them can and everyone else, well he can beat anywere.

After he was mean to Tim last year i didn't like him much but it's a shame his results haven't matched his talent.

He has a few years left in him yet but I don't see him as the type of person to be happy fighting it out in the top 20 trying to get back to the top 10 if he doesn't get his ranking back up straight away - could be wrong though.

Is not the 1st time in the year David falls out top 10

Joyce_23
03-17-2007, 11:27 PM
And this is interesting why? Is David the first player ever to fall out of the top ten? A lot of people will probably be happy to see that the 'nasty' man is gone but it's David...Inconsistency is his middle name and he will still be a tough opponent to play against, his ranking doesn't matter much. Besides, he has little to no points to defend in the second half of the year.

March 20 2006: 3rd

In November 2005 he was 12 or 11 before Shangai (with a good numbers of points that he won in the middle).
He honestly doesn't care to much about ranking, he only does it because the seed thing and the draw.. He likes to play certain (put the enfasis in "certain" ) tournaments.
Plus he's used to ups and downs, because, besides other factors, he has a huge tendence to get injured (weird and long ones). So is not that he always plays the same tournaments to defend the points he won the past year.

Why is there a thread about this?
I don't want to be mean, but this is not the first time in the year he falls out of the top 10 and it's not such a big deal. He is not playing well at all and it was obvious this was going to happen. Now, it's the same for me if David is 7 or 12 because he's playing badly and I think ranking is important if you actually can do something with it, in this case, winning titles and big titles, specially.

Don't go there, please... Because what David said was wrong, but Henman acted like a jerk... and I was there in that match. I've heard the dicussion and Tim saying that the ball was good but he wasn't going to give him the first serve again because is was bad for him (to Tim)... So let's not talk about the "gentleman facade", please...

With all due respect, danton. Nalbandian fell out of the top a couple of weeks back, then got back in, now he's going to fall back out, and at some point in the near future he'll get back in.

So I agree with others, not really sure what the point of this thread is. I think most knew since Nalbandian lost to Ljubicic that if Djokovic or Murray made the final, they would move into the top 10 at his expense.

ps. Did you stop liking Tim when he was "mean" to that defenseless ball girl at Wimbledon? :) :p

It is what it is - he will fall out of the top 10 - so that's what I put.

I did think it was a bit of a pointless topic and was relieved to see it ignored but hours later it was resurrected.

See my post above.

To be fair to Tim it was an accident - he shouldn't have lost his cool but it's not like he set out to hit her. Still it was funny watching all the PR people swing into action - flowers, public apology etc and wasn't he kicked out of the tournament as punishment?

So, let me get this straight: Tim loses his cool, it's an accident. David loses his, and he's "nasty man?" Thanks for the clarification.

Like I said, couldn't you come up with a snazzier title for a hate thread? Or should you have done that, like four days ago, when David actually LOST?

I feel sorry for Nalby, he has so great talent second to Roger right now but he doesn't want to work hard that why I am not his fan he just doen't care about it he seems to be happy with his lifestyle and place.

I love his game those return , angle on Backhands but he should be fitter play better
he won 5 titles it a shame because avergae players in Top15-20 are able to win such number of titles , he won TMC which was great but he doesn''t even qualify in normal way. I hope he will get a coach who will be able to force him into hard work (like Jimmy Connors for Andy) and he will bounce back |I would love to see him in Top5-8

Yeah well, I don't think there is a coach in the world who can force him to do anything. I also believe he could have achieved more and could work harder but he doesn't want to be another Federer. David would be seriously unhappy if his life was all about tennis all the time. It's not very professional or smart but still his decision to make. Frustrating as it may be sometimes...

Okay, did you see him in person without those tends he uses to play to say he's "incredible fat"? Or by the way did you see him at least in pictures with normal clothes? He looks at least 7 kg thinner than with those tennis clotehs he uses. More check these pictures:
From the match against Mathieu, he was using at least two size bigger than what he needs (saying that using big clothes makes you slim is a lie, often is worst). Here the shirt got stick to his body.

I saw him in person in Cordoba and Bs As (there with a yellow shirt) he's not "incredible" fat. He has to lose some weight? Yes, but don't know how or why but those tennis outfits he uses made him look waaaay more heavier than with normal clothes. Plus he was with more weight on Madrid (I saw him there when I was in Europe the past year)
