Haas will win IW. (or Nadal)

I don't think anyone can deny that Haas is Top 3 atm (possibly #2). His point construction is as good as Federer's.

Hitting dropshot winners of ROS and hitting DTL BH when 10 feet behind the base line. I love the new Tommy Haas.

outplayed Gonzo, really.

Yes, worrying condition for Gonzalez, considering he took 2 weeks off :S

Hitting dropshot winners of ROS and hitting DTL BH when 10 feet behind the base line. I love the new Tommy Haas.Currently he's at #2 in the Race, and according to my commentators he has more wins than anyone on tour. :) I seem to remember similar stats from last year around this time: definitely the wins, and maybe he got as high as 2 in the Race, maybe only 3.

Beautiful tennis tonight--22 winners to 8 unforced errors. Beautiful.

Tommy was pretty much flawless- looking good to take it all. Never really got the sense that Gonzo was in it from the jump.

 Fena  Sounds like Tommy was fired up to get revenge and would not be denied. Fernando-you know what you have to work on now so get ready for Miami.

Big Congrats to Tommy and good luck in the rest of IW :hatoff:

Murray going to get beat down.

Murray has better movement and variation then Gonzo, it will be alot closer then tonight. I'm assuming of course Haas keeps playing this level; it doesn't look like he's stopping anytime soon :haha:

good chance to watch some beautiful tennis.

Murray going to get beat down.I think so too. Haas is playing the kind of tennis I knew he was capable of, but wasn't sure if he was ever going to produce.

well, Haas has a history of not performing very well in decisive circumstances.

Haas will destroy him 6 - 2, 6 - 1 or something similar.

Haas is on. This is a golden opportunity for him. Best I've seen him play in years.

I hope he destroys Murray. Andy plays such a passive baseline game he just doesn't deserve to win. Some day he'll learn to play with variety.

If Roddick takes out Nadal, this is a golden opportunity for Tommy to get another MS title to his name.

I think you mean Murray. If he takes out Nadal, it'll have to be in the finals...and thus, having won an MS title. lol:p

EDIT: Haha you editted it in time!

Gonzo

Deserved for Tommy, he's playing great at the moment and is enjoying a surprising comeback. He should go all the way now.

Allez
03-15-2007, 07:14 AM
Yep, Haas seems to be building up a strong momentum. He's playing superb tennis right now. Only Roger would have been able to beat him on this sort of form. I love Murray, but I can't see how he is going to trouble this new Tommy. Same with Djokovic. Nadal or Roddick are a different proposition altogether and we know how fragile Tommy's mind can get in pressure situations. So the winner is still not a foregone conclusion :yeah:

Now that was easy and it was very great how Tommy killed some shots from all distances and left Gonzalez only looking after shots!

:worship: Bravo Tommy!

(but in honest, Australian Open would have been more important to play like that :o )

But congrats to Tommy. :yeah: He prepared well for this tournament by playing Delray Beach, Memphis, and Dubai, and the results are there.

wow. Tommy!

He sure is in good form. I'm so pleased for him - after that nasty injury, I didn't know if he'd ever regain his form. He has and then some.

03-15-2007, 01:26 PM
Wow, Haas! :yeah:
Just watched my stream recording and Haas was serving very well.
Gonzo, of course, far from his Aussie Open form with UEs on his fh and back to a rather weak bh.

(but in honest, Australian Open would have been more important to play like that :o )

This is really sad because apart from Eurosport, that match was also shown on ARD, the biggest channel in Germany. It would have been good for the Tennis Sport in Germany, if Haas hadn't been destroyed like that.

Now please make me happy, and take care of Murray. :)

Have to say Haas was like an avenging angel. I had not seen him play before, now I understand what people have been saying about him.

As for ESPN being obsessed with Andy, they are actually obsessed with Brad-It's All About Me-Gilbert who, in fairness, is really bringing along Andy's game.

Back to topic. Sorry, Fena. Wow, he looked pretty lost out there.

And hat's off to Tommy.

Well, anyone can hit dropshot winners returning serve: just hit if off the frame.

it was not, the commentator thought too it was an accident after having replayed many times, he hit it clean, he wanted to do a dropshot.

Yep. I'm inclined to give the edge to Haas, but honestly you just never know with Murray. I'm LOVING this matchup. Its actually more intriguing than the possible Nadal/Roddick match (though I'm looking foward to that as well).
