Surprised this has not been reported by the new legion of russell fans(who ironically have never seen him play, lol), anyway Chela should be no obstacle for Nadal, as Nadal owns him..

1-1 Head-to-Head, although they haven't played since 2004.

Chela is probably the second best Argentinian player right now (behind Cañas).

What a sad day for Argentina.

Chela confirms his form coming from the title in Acapulco, good for him for making use of his opportunities to get to the semis. As for Michael, he will be totally forgotten, it is taken as a failure for the guy to lose against Chela without anybody thinking of where he was last year and what a success it was to come as far as he has until now.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Please, don't say that again. Mancini might call him again for Davis Cup....

I think a healthy Calleri and a brain-functioning Chucho are better players, I am not even mentioning David :tape:

 You're lucky Chela decided to take a sabbatical year off DC.

I agree they're both more talented than Chela, then again Calleri is not fit at the moment and Chucho seems to have left his brain somewhere in Austria. :p

Isn't that an 8-match winning streak now for Chela after the Acapulco title? It must be a career best.

Chela has to one of the most anonymous guys on the ATP tour...

Are there any Chela_fan, IluvChela, Chela=Russellkilla posters out there

I think everybody saw Kuerten vs Russell, no?

Or Monfils vs Russell last year in the US Open.

I'm a Russell fan for years but I predicted Chela would reach the QF after he beated Bjorkman in round two...

Too bad Mike couldn't beat Chela, it would give him more points for the bandwagon player of the month.

Good tournament for Mike and chubby Chela was just usual solid self.

From now on, Mike will be playing more matches on the main tour, so I'm looking forward to seeing him making more good victories. It's still been a good week for him, he had his chances yesterday, was up a break in the 2nd set but couldn't hold, so the better player won.

Even Moses didn't part the Red Sea the way the draw has been parted for Nadal.

Oh well, let's just hope Roddick beats Ljubicic and then we will get the match many of us wanted to see- Roddick-Nadal.

It is.

And he has a record of 17-4 this year. The best among the Argentines:

Cañas 11-3
Monaco 9-5
Del Potro 9-6
Calleri 8-6
Acasuso 5-5
Nalbandian 5-5

Hmm not sure about that... seeing JCF hitting UE after UE was a bit embarrassing so I switched over to Chela vs. Russell and they looked really good. Both were bashing the ball really hard and had some excellent exchanges and tactical battles. I don't know, sometimes I have this impression that anyone in top 100 is capable of producing amazing tennis every now and then... I often find myself unable to answer in what way are they less good than anyone in the top 10 for example. Is it really just the consistency thing? Self-belief maybe?

It's time to face fact, the tennis gods love Nadal and so do they love his fans. It's written in the bible
