Gonzo bitched him at the Aussie Open, but I think Haas is playing a lot better now.

Haas in 3.

Yes, haas is playing much better, and Gonzo was struggling against Soderling, so i think Haas will win this time. But i would like Fena to win

I doubt we will see a blitz-type performance from Gonzalez as he put on in the Australian Open semis however I still give the edge to him.

Fena in 2 sets.

Haas should win based on current form.

Haas, the slice backhand isnt as effective from fena as it was in the AUS open.

I'll take Haas - now that Fed is out I think it's Haas' title to lose considering the way he's been playing recently.

Haas in 2.

why? His current form is simply better then it was @ Australia. Granted Gonzo was in the zone deep during that tournament but he isnt been playing like that the last couple of weeks, and this is his first tournament in the first time in 4 weeks, so when the clutch comes, he will be a little rusty in my opinion.

If Haas plays he has in the past rounds = straight sets.

If Haas plays like a fool and starts making UE and gets made = Possiabily 3 or Gonzo wins in the end also.

Fena in 2 with tighter sets!

Way too tough to predict  I WANT Fernando to win but I have a lot of respect for Tommy and he's been playing so well. I will predict a good, close match! and I hope stupid ESPN 2 will air it. :p

With the way things have gone up to this point, I can honestly say I have no idea. Assuming things are status quo...Gonzo's level of play rises to what we've seen lately, I'll take him in 3.

Either way, it'll be a tough one. Tommy's got a real shot here.

Haas.

With how the two of them have been the last few weeks, and even this week I don't see much room for argument. If Haas loses it's because the screw that's been holding his head together fell out.

Will be a very tough match

Respect for Tommy who's playing awesome lately, but I HOPE it will be Feña :scared:

Gonzo.

Um...

Gonzo isn't playing well, Haas is. Gonzo almost lost to Dancievic, then Soderling was hitting him off the court yesterday. Haas has been playing well for the last couple of weeks, I would take Tommy in straight sets, he will roll.

no different to the AO, expect haas might win a game or two more

I think Haas will avenge his AO loss to Gonzo here.

Except it's completely different conditions, a different court, a different ball, and oh yea a much more confident Haas...but yea...no different that the AO.

Very very tough to predict....
Well,I watched Gonzalez match a little bit yesterday,he's playing well,so I say Fena in 3 tight sets

Probably Tommy Haas. Good luck.

At the Aussie Open it was Gonzalez who was full of confidence. This time it's Haas being in great form, so it would be fair if Tommy won. It doesn't need to be a thrashing. I can live with a 3 sets win. :D

Don't know.

I like them both...may the best man win. :yeah:

I think Tommy is playing better now since the Oz open.

And Fernando isn't playing as well. I think not playing any hardcourt tournaments before IW is hurting him. And really he hasn't played since DC. Practice isn't the same as match play. But maybe he's got the rust out after the last 2 matches.

We'll see...

I hope Gonzo, but Haas is playing ethereal tennis right now. It's his moment and Rogi won't be there to stop him. It's now or never.

Pretty much my sentiments, including the bit about coverage. Not to take away from Gonzo, but it's about time Tommy capitalised on his talent. I'll be happy either way though if either one goes on to win the tournament.

Gonzo has played nowhere near as well as he did at the Aussie Open, while Haas is playing heaps better than he was down under. Theoretically, Haas should come out the winner, but you never know with Gonzo.

Haas is playing as good as anyone right now, but Fena is a tough matchup for him, should be a great match, I think Haas will win in 3 tight sets.

Feña in easy straight sets ;)

Gonzo is a bad match-up for Haas, take my words...

Yes it certainly seems that way which is why I also think Fena will win. As has been shown time and again you can be in the hottest form of your life but if you come up against a player who is a bad match up for you it will always be an uphill battle.

People seem to forget Gonzo also struggled in the first couple of matches at the AO against Korolev and Del Potro.

Hass in 2.

Gonzo still to hit top form this week, can't see Haas losing.

Gonzalez, probably in straight sets.
Besides being a bad match up for Haas, the same is just too incompetent to use his game correctly against Gonzalez

if gonzalez does not play well, haas well beat him but if gonzalez is on form i feel haas will go down.
