Expected straight sets win by A-Rod :yeah:

 at the title, that was far from roasting. Rochus' fight against the aces deserves some more credit.

Good tie-break, a lot of interesing rallies. Rochus knows how to play against the best guys.

Got a little tight there, in that second set - Roddick got a little sloppy and nearly went off the boil and Rochus got fairly close to a final set. Roddick stepped it up, played and excellent breaker and got out of trouble. First set was much better from him, his game's looking in good order.

Rod didn't face a BP, so it wasn't bad

Good point - whenever it got tight in the Roddick games back end of the second set, Roddick found the serves.

Very good match. Both players were working hard and striking the ball well.

Andy is becoming the new TB King.

Awful to see Ollie go down like that. He came out with a great spirit but got so disheartened by A-Rod's serve that he lost confidence even with his groundstrokes in the end. Andy is a nightmare opponent for a guy of his stature.

At the same time, an amazing display by Andy from the baseline, especially in the 1st set when he felt no pressure on his own serve. Great forehands with incredible depth. I especially loved the way he had an answer to those smart sliced bh's down the line that Ollie threw at him. Andy made Rochus work so hard for every point that the Belgian just ran out of gas. Rochus should've started to shorten the points much earlier, before he was forced to due to tiredness. But he must have thought he could outrally the American.

Nice match, indeed. Rodski's serve was GREAT!
Too bad for Ollie though, he gave a good match, as far as was in his possibility.

Roddick really could do no wrong with his groundstrokes today.

Andy was never losing this match, a definite improvement over the performance against Lalo.

Roddick is playing really well. Not a fan of his, but I can't deny the effort.

Ollie...

It seems everyone is taking a leaf out of my book these days. There is only one player that gets "roasted" :)

Anyway, well done Andy- another potential banana skin navigated successfully :yeah:

If Roddick barbeques Nadal (nice word, roasting is good too.)

then He is the fav to take the title, granted he doesnt run into someone like Murray in the final.

Rochus is tough, great precision off his groundstrokes, has the ability to force the Roddick backhand into error. Roddick comfortable enough though:)

Still, that forehand still looking a bit loopy, needs to flatten it out more.....

Good performance by Roddick overall. As always, Ollie showed great scrap and fight.

then He is the fav to take the title, granted he doesnt run into someone like Murray in the final.

He has to get by Gasquet and Ivan or Nalbandian before the semis. And Rafa has a couple of matches to win too. The semi isn't set yet.

Granted, I do think that Roddick has a good shot at the title. But in addition to Murray, from the top half you also have Tommy who is playing very well who I also think could have a good chance. And if Gonzo finds more of his form he could be a big threat too.

I think there are a few contenters out there.
