Agassi watches Bogdanovic defeat

Agassi shares his wisdom with Gilbert, Murray and Lloyd.
Britain's Alex Bogdanovic had some high-profile spectators as he went out of the Las Vegas Open with a 6-3 6-2 defeat by American Sam Querrey.
Las Vegas native Andre Agassi, his former coach Brad Gilbert, Andy Murray and John Lloyd watched as Querrey advanced to the 24-player round robin.

Agassi insisted on buying his own US$30 ticket, refusing free entrance.

As well as working with Murray, Gilbert has a wider coaching role with the LTA, while Lloyd is GB Davis Cup captain.

Elsewhere, Gustavo Kuerten saw off South Africa's Wesley Moodie 6-4 7-5.

Jesus, how cold is it in Las Vegas? I mean I know it's February but that is Las Vegas, I don't dress that warmly here in Kentucky in February.

Andy looks annoyed as always. That spoiled brat.. Is he the proudest son that Britain can produce and thereby torture the rest of the world.. haha :)

Andre is awesome :)

Wimps. They should come to Minnesota in January sometime when it's -10F actual temp.

Spring during the daytime, fall at night in Vegas. Quite nice actually. And the prices went up a bit from last year;)

Yeah. Try upstate New York, home of the 7 foot snow drifts. Sheesh.

That being said, it's kinda cool to see Andre there with Brad. And it must be amazing for Murray, since Andre is who he says he always liked best.

@Agassi Aces: So, did ES 2 show that match in Britain?

Good for the Las Vegas tourney that Andre retired. That way they can have him at the tourney. ;) Otherwise he would be in Dubai.

They showed the match on Eurosport 2 with no commentary. No coverage of Henman v Mahut tonight as it is on a non-televised court.

Thx for the info.
Oh well, they didn't show it in Germany though, so that means that they can have things on ES 2 Britain which aren't shown in other countries, after all. Until now I thought that this was only the case for Eurosport 1.

We USED to have just Eurosport 2 but now the ident says British Eurosport 2 - has done for a little while and yeah they can show Brit-exclusive coverage now.

Damn you Brits and your fantastic Tennis coverage. Someone from the responsible British ES team must really love tennis. Wish we had someone like that in Germany.

Maybe it's for the best that there's no ES 2 Germany, because in that case they would only show football and maybe some more Handball.

They have got a lot better - showing some of this early American swing this year for the first time Memphis and LA as well as San Jose which they showed the last 2 rounds of last year as well.

Shame it's at the expense of Dubai.

Sure, ES 2 in general is great. The Brits get all the extra coverage though. Compare that with Germany were not only do we have no one willing to broadcast the Masters Series, we don't even know yet if someone will show Hamburg.

The extra coverage, though nice, is pretty minimal and restricted to when there's a brit worth watching in a decent early round match.

However I take your point about the TMS events and lack of coverage in Germany as this year it looks like Indian Wells and Miami coverage will start from Saturday rather than Monday of week #2 as it did last year.

I hope they sort something for you guys out - I know live streams, while good, aren't the same.

I can certainly see why some MTFers hate Agassi so much.

But in Germany you get the Live atpmastersseries.tv (http://www.atpmastersseries.tv/page/Home/0,,11444,00.html?from=atp) coverage. In the UK, we can only get highlights from this site.
Didn't German Eurosport cover the Memphis final? Haas was playing.

Not quite. You can watch Dubai online at Eurosport.com (http://www.eurosport.com/tennis/mcplayervideo_vid34657.shtml).

Now we get to see Safin and Guga as well as all our favs in Dubai. :D

Certainly our coverage of tennis seems to be getting better. Eurosport would have never covered these American tournaments in the past.

I'd rather watch the final in full on a telly, but if they show the final live and complete online, it's better than nothing. No evidence yet that they will, though.

I'd be glad to trade with you any time and have Masters Series live tennis on my tv than on my monitor.

No, it was on Eurosport 2, and the coverage of the semis and final were already scheduled for a long time now.
We don't get any special last minute coverage here.

They interviewed Andre briefly after the match (he refused to talk on camera during the match as he didn't want to draw attention from the tennis). He seemed uncomfortable and did not want to really talk. The attention he was getting by the gathering fans (the interview was held out in the middle of the promenade area). He didn't say much, just that the tourney is so close to his home and he wanted to support it. Also mentioned that he has been traveling an awful lot and was VERY vague about what he was doing and wouldn't talk about it, that was really kind of odd. I'm just presuming it is something to do with some venture that he'll be involved in.

As for the cold, i found it a lot colder to sit there and watch a tennis match in it than if I were just walking around. My mom and I were at a night match in Scottsdale a few years ago before it moved and it was in the low 40s and it was really really cold and really not enjoyable at all to sit there and shiver.

Good of Eurosport to finally televise these small American tournaments. I'm sure the Murray-factor has everything to do with it.

What a moron. One ticket less for fans  ;)

But at least you're guaranteed to see every match. Sky often broadcasts highlights or delayed coverage of important matches and they also never cover the night sessions of American tournaments.

I was in Germany for a few weeks last year and I actually enjoyed the online coverage of Montreal and Cincinatti. All of the Centre Court matches, including the doubles, were covered and they even showed some of the 2nd court matches.

Pretty sure the appearance fee he got from Dubai last year covers that. ;)
