He's struggled in the past with players like Ferrero and Federer who use heavy forehands with spin to drag him wide off the court and exploit his lack of reach with the two hands on both sides (this might help explain his good record against Safin, a flat hitter who struggles with the low ball). Factor that into a match with Nadal, and it ain't good news for the Magician.

Safin plays with a hell of a lot of spin. If he played flat he'd have done much better on grass, and that's something even he talks about.

Ok, if you're gonna compare, say "flatter than". Safin doesn't play flat, unless you compare him with Boredo, Nadal...

Actually, Ferrero isn't that bad a match-up for Santoro if you compare with ToJo or Davydenko for instance. He had some tights match and was giving him a hard time in davis cup for instance from the third set in Davis Cup whereas being injured. I used to believe that players with a lot of topspin would be an issue for him, but as simple as it seems, players who know how to deal with his slice like to play him f.e Davydenko. Granted, ToJo or Kolya with their low centre of gravity have less problems than Safin to deal with it. On the other side, Bruguera has a losing record (1-4) against him with a couple of beatdown even on clay...

What I find funny is that if it was any other player losing to Santoro, everybody would say what a tricky player Santoro is. But when it comes to Tommy it's because he's boring and untalented. Whats the deal with that?

MTF Robredo's Haters are so funny :haha:in an ironic way Robredo def 5 times in a row the oldie frenchie but ppl here only remind this one, TR wasn't in a good day it can happens to anyone i think( no need to mention federer fighting for some time against pless or berdych vs the n°374 in the ATP etc...) and Santoro played great *end of the thread :o* u can keep saying how much u dislike Robredo's game, outfit, behaviour, accent etc.... it won't change the fact that he's in the top 10 and deserve it as much as all the player's in this top.

Dunno when this guy is playing ppl don't say a word on the match but only one character the spaniard some comments like " he's a looser" "boring" blablabla have nothing to do in those threads so if u hate him create a thread and just let ur hate speak there no need to bash all those threads with all those comments. It's not because i like the player that i say so i could say the same about Nadal or other tennis players but seems ppl are more :devil: about Robredo without any consistent reason.
