Why is Emerson Never Mentioned?

The Aussie Great of not too long ago won 12 Majors, more than even Borg. (I could add & Laver, but Laver would have won so many more had his career not been gutted by the transition to the Open Era, that it seems like misplaced concreteness to include his name here.) Yet, he's never discussed among the Legends of the Game. Does he belong among the greatest ever? Pete only won 2 more Majors than he did?

Nor have I ever heard him discussed casually during broadcasts. What gives here? Did he offend the tennis establishment? Is he gay? Isn't he still alive?

It may be due to the fact that 6 of his 12 majors were won in Australia before it had really great fields and not many of the top players would play it.

i think it's because he won his majors while most all the best players were ineligible professionals.
