I give Karlovic the edge, if it wasn't for that serve he wouldn't be a pro.

easy one -> Federer

Karlovic only in relation to his game

I would say that Roddick has the best 1st serve and Federer has the 2nd serve.

How can you say this when he doesnt even win 80% of 1st serve points? There is only one answer and that is Karlovic.

I don't want to be strident or anything, but anyone who doesn't vote for the Doctor is an idiot. ;)

I've voted for a Dr. Ivo. I think my thread about his aces' achievements is telling. This man even on Swiss clay had 7-6, 3-6, 6-7 against Federer. When Karlovic is in a good service form you can only beat him in two or three tie-break sets ;) I don't see in Poll Wayne Arthurs. He is still active :p

As Macenroe said, if you're teaching a kid how to serve teach him how to serve like Federer.

Yes. Federer's second serve "kick serve" should be banned. Nobody could handle it properly at the AO (nobody could step into the court to take his 2nd serve).

I always thought Roddick had the best serve, but it wasn't until the U.S open against Fed, that I realized that fast doesn't necessarily equal best. He was struggling to get the majority of his first serves in. I don't get to watch tennis that much, so I don't know if that's a common practice for Roddick but it seems that Fed gets off a lot of aces against his opponents. So I guess I would have to vote for fed. Oh wait, I have to actually vote first.

Well Roddick has a garbage ROS, and Federer has an amazing ROS. So Fed always aces the crap out of Roddick.

Fed also doesn't seem to try to hit hard serve unless he faces a hard server. I noticed this about him. Against lower level opponents he seems to save a lot of energy by not going for big serves.

I always wondered, because people say or have said, i think Rafa too, that it's hard to read his serve. So I guess that why he gets a lot of aces of his opponents too.

Karlovic made the Quarters of Madrid a few years ago and never broke serve. That should tell you how good his serve is.

Fed Express is clearly the best. He gets the serves in when it counts.

Karlovic has an awesome serve, but how will it go when the pressure is on???

Karlovic has got the best serve ever. The only stroke that's keeping him on the tour.

Right now it's Karlovic, he should be able to serve easily at that height. The best in history? Goran.

Volandri, Murray, Coria and Nalbandian IMO. The four best servers.

I'm sorry to say it but anyone who thinks it's Federer or Roddick or Ljubicic is simply kidding themselves. Karlovic's serve is the best on tour by so far it's not funny.

Karlovic by far!

Fed when it comes to second serves.

Seriously, I always think that you measure how good someones serve is by their 2nd serve and the man usually leading the points won on 2nd serve stats is invariably Federer so I would say he's the best.

Although Federer has a great 2nd serve stat that is not neccesarily a representation of his great 2nd serve, it is more a show of his rallying abilities.

Last year he was leading in % of saved BPs as well, which means it works even under pressure.
