Lu out-doublefaults Roddick. Impressive serving from him when serving for the set.

If this was a lucky win for Andy, does that mean Karlovic has a lucky career?

Not a great day at the office for Roddick but he got it done in the end. Lu was very obliging with DFs on big points.

Will Roddick be schooled again by overrated Murray?

I especially enjoyed how Lu times his DF's to the moment where it would do him most damage.

I'm glad Roddick got through - it should make for a good semi tomorrow.

Andy gets past Freaky Friday injury-free, that's all I care about.

oh yes with his pathetic performance today, he could be schooled by Murray again.

Lu threw away the 2nd set. I mean 5-2 up served for the set at 5-3 then 4 set points in the tiebreak on a fast indoor court (only 1 of which was on his serve but he double faulted anyway); that's absolutely shocking.

this Lu guy blows, i could have served out the 2nd set

Lucky my ass. Andy advanced without losing his poise despite bad luck on a slew of break points, off-and-on great play from Lu, and being down 3 set points in the 2nd set tiebreaker.

Sounds like a good result for Duck to me. Get the shaky play out of the way, and have two great sets tomorrow and Sunday.

Yep piss poor from Lu when he was in the lead, but hey ho - he blew it, Roddick got it done, end of story. Roddick progresses, we have the rematch of San Jose

I'm rooting for Roddick. He doesn't need to start losing to some other player three and thirteen times now.

Adam, explain the match-up issue behind Murray vs. Roddick, please. :D

Nothing to do with luck - his opponent played big points badly. That's not luck for Roddick, that's his opponent playing big points badly. It happens. Roddick took advantage and put it away in 2, avoided it going to 3. He got it done with a little help from his opponent but it all counts.

As far as I'm aware only the final will be on Sun. Of course unless they have decided to bring in a 3rd & 4th place play-off match that is! ;)

Still good to hear that you'll be routing for Murray in the final then! :D

Pathetic stats for Andy :help:

Tut Tut Lu... I think the choke word is over-used, but when you double-fault on key points like that, what else can be said!?

Roddick will obviously need a much improved performance tomorrow since he's up against somebody who can get his serve back well. He scraped through in straights and that's all you can ask if you're playing below par.

Typical MTF. No-one criticized Safin when he dropped a set to Lu last week.

Lu plays a very high risk game and always serves a lot of DFs. Today was no different.

Great to see all top 4 seeds making the semis this week. :yeah:

That's because Marat is a headcase and can drop sets to anyone when the mood takes him. It's almost expected.

More appalling, abusive behavior from Andy. The camera crew apparently caught him calling Babolat a "fucking prick" too.
