It's the curse of Hingis. :scared:

And out on court 1 - the organisers care so much for their defending champion they stuck him as the one singles match on court 1.

Expected win by Kohlschreiber

Its stepanek scoobs, one of the most irritating players on court, who has a tiny fanbase, so its not a surprise. Thank god we don't have to see this guy on TV tomorrow :yeah:

Not a fan of Kohl to be honest, but any time this idiot loses is always nice!

Yeah, I noticed that too! Doesn't look like they were having too much respect for Radek... "Sorry bloke, you may have won last year, but in fact we wanted someone else to have won, eh, as you're too friggin' ugly to attract a large crowd!"

Tight match, though. Well done Mr. Kohlschreiber!

2nd set was interesting. Stepanek saved 5 match points in two games and then was leading 5:2, 6:5 in the tie-break.

Good to see the germans doing fairly well this week, so far. Haas and Becker in Memphis. Mayer and Kohlschreiber in Rotterdam.

Didn't think Kohlschreiber would be able to do that

never trust the fish...
i still dont know how he got to be 8 in the world...

the defending champion vs. #58 in the world, how is this supposed to be an expected win?

nice win Philipp! Now destroy Davydenko.
Rotterdam would be a nice place to win his 1st ATP trophy.

Radek :smash:

its definitely hingis' fault. if you dont believe in her curse its an unexpected win, if, like me you do believe you saw it coming

This match was all about the 1st set...whoever took it would win.

Radek had his chances and i am sure at this momment will be very upset with himself. You never feel confident when radek is rallying, he relies on his serve BIG TIME.

Kolhs 2nd serve was suprisingly good for him today. I still hate the guy(Frustratingly inconsistent), i think indoor tournies and maybe the odd tourno on outside clay will be his best chance of any silverware.

Looking like a Ljubo-Youzhny final.

Kohlschreiber looking strong at the moment ;)
Congrats to him

I watched Stepanek - Hernych yesterday... And Radek was far away from impressive.... maybe because of his back problems he wasn't that readdy to play this tournament.... so it's not a great surprise Philipp won
